Qualitative User Experience Researcher (Contract)

Niantic’s mission is to use emerging technology to enrich our experiences as human beings in the physical world. We build games that encourage movement, exploration, and face-to-face social interaction. We are seeking experienced User Experience Researchers to help craft the future of Niantic's games, and platform technology.
This is a contractor position and the work should be performed based on service agreement and SOW. Niantic will not offer Contractor direct employment contract, salary, benefits, equities, or any compensation associated with employment.
Responsibilities
- Apply a variety of methodologies including interviews, field studies, workshops, ethnography, and user testing, to conduct end-to-end user experience research with users across the globe, such as study design, recruiting, moderation, analysis, reporting.
- Apply appropriate analysis methods to turn the data captured into meaningful and concrete insights/recommendations for the team.
- Keep up with UX related standards, research methods, trends, and tools.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of comparable industry experience in UX Research, Human-Computer Interaction, Human-Centered Design, applied research, and/or product development and research is required
- Experience conducting studies using a range of techniques, including but not limited to interviews, focus groups, usability studies, and diary studies.
- Expertise in various qualitative analysis methodologies, such as content, thematic, and narrative analysis, interpretive phenomenological analysis, discourse analysis, and grounded theory.
- Proficiency in conveying findings from user research to cross-functional partners
- Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced and evolving team.
The salary range for this role is $67.00 - $78.00 per hour.
