QC Manager [The Avatar Project]

Job Description
As a QC Manager, you will be part of Avatar’s Project Management team with the core goals of delivering an amazing game while keeping a healthy, motivated and committed team. Reporting to the Producer, you will be an important part of the game development and have the opportunity to manage some of the best teams in the industry. You’ll be part of the QA/QC department and will be responsible for implementing and improving processes, methods and tools. You will coordinate and drive the global testing and release management of the game together with other industry experts, optimizing our “time to market”. Your team being the central hub of knowledge, operates and delivers builds, both internally and externally, making use of both automation and traditional testing methods. By maintaining and improving our tracking software you will directly influence the entire production team and their understanding of how to deliver high quality builds at a timely manner.

Responsibilities
- Organizing and optimizing the team workflow to ensure a simple and clear coordination and workload
- Implementing means to enhance the communication between team members
- Planning and maintenance of testing roadmaps for the entire project according to Ubisoft Stage Gate Process
- Leading and managing senior staff members and helping them develop a culture of feedback and constant improvement
- Ensuring proper bug management (reports, priorities, etc.)
- Determining human resource needs, set up and follow up on the hiring and assignment plans
- Maintaining the release calendar, steering it and proposing optimizations based on the Live Producer, Production Director and Brand Director needs
- Ensuring an efficient release orchestration and full pass requirement testing for all platforms prior to each release
- Controlling, maintaining and supervising the project tracking software (Jira)
Qualifications

You are passionate and curious about games and game development. You are able to solve complex problems and transform them into an action plan with the delivery target in mind. You are inclusive and able to take and give feedback to improve yourself and your team. You have a proactive approach and is willing to help where your knowledge and skills are needed. You show a strong work ethic regarding team development and the well-being of your team members. Besides the above we’re looking for someone aligned with our core values and the following skills and experience:
- Professional game development experience in a Project Management role or as a QA/QC Lead. You’ve worked with a life cycle of game production and at least one full game shipped. OR you’ve worked in a Project Management role focused on QA/QC within software development and have a big passion for games and game development.
- Strong proficiency with a Planning and Tracking software tool (Jira, Hansoft, Azure DevOps, Teamworks, MS Project etc.)
- Professional experience acting as a People Manager
