QA lead

Job Description

We are currently looking for a person to join our Narrative QA team as a Narrative QA Lead to guide the team through the transformation process and help build its value and strength inside the company. An ideal candidate would be an all-rounder with in-depth QA expertise who can manage and mentor their team to deliver high quality and engaging gaming experience. The person in this position will work closely with our Producers to help ensure the highest possible quality of our game, considering deadlines and technical requirements.

Daily responsibilities

• Managing and mentoring our internal Narrative QA team.
• Taking responsibility for the quality of the Narrative part of the game.
• Defining long-term and short-term goals for the team and translating them into individual goals.
• Creating and updating test plans to ensure that the whole content and all features are covered.
• Identifies risks in the testing process and counteracts them.
• Ensuring that everyday testing and verifying of new game features runs smoothly.
• Assuring that the QA department is a source of current and reliable knowledge of the technical condition of our game.
• Cooperating with producers and scrum masters to ensure the best support from the QA team.
• Leading the cooperation with other teams to ensure high standards of the narration and overall gameplay experience is carried through to completion in the highest possible quality.
• Nurturing the team’s growth and continuous development.
• Actively participating in the recruiting process.
• Managing bug reports, checklists, bugtracker and documentation.
• Looking for new opportunities to implement innovations in term of quality.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years experience in game development with at least 1+ years in an AAA production.
• Deep knowledge of QA processes, methodologies, and tools.
• Ability to provide focused, inspiring, and creative leadership, and to coordinate, motivate, and lead the whole QA team towards success.
• Knowledge of agile software development frameworks.
• Experience in working with cross-functional and cross-disciplinary teams.
• Proficiency in clear communication of complex concepts, including creating project documentation.
• Practical understanding of current titles’ gameplay mechanics, specifically in RPGs and FPS.
• Feedback-driven management and ability to manage conflict.
• Outstanding verbal and written interpersonal communication skills.
• Fluent English.
• Openness to changes, passion for games.
