(Junior) QA Tester (f/m/d)

We’re in search of an experienced QA Tester (f/m/d) who can play a pivotal role in creating, what we believe, will be the first MMO of its kind.

So who would you be working with?

You would sit in our QA Team, which is responsible for helping bring SEED to life through testing.

In this role, you will play a pivotal part in our development process, collaborating closely with our talented developers and Product Owners to ensure a seamless and captivating gaming experience for our users.

Your responsibilities will focus mainly on contributing to a highly functioning QA team and QA processes. As a crucial team member, you will actively participate in QA Sprints, Feature Handovers, Bug Triage meetings and other team rituals. In collaboration with the QA Test Lead, you will work towards achieving quarterly OKRs (Objectives and Key Results), contribute to the refinement of processes, and establish benchmarks for excellence in testing practices.

In a typical day, you will be creating build deployments, executing test cases, reviewing and testing against design documentation, and generally using your QA Testing expertise to report and regress bugs, share feedback and discuss ongoing and potential issues, all to deliver effective QA testing of SEED.

You will be joining our team in Madrid Spain, and working in collaboration with our colleagues from Klang HQ in Berlin, Germany.

So, what would you be doing?

• Conduct comprehensive testing of our game to identify and report bugs and other issues.
• Execute test plans to ensure the game meets quality standards.
• Collaborate with developers to reproduce and prioritize issues, tracking them to resolution.
• Participate in the development of QA processes, methodologies, and best practices.
• Provide valuable feedback to the development team to enhance gameplay, user experience, and overall quality.

• Studies/experience related to QA Testing of a software product.
• Knowledge of QA methodologies, processes, and tools.
• A strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of test management and bug-tracking software.
• The ability to adapt and work with Agile Development methodologies.
• The ability to communicate well in English, inside and outside of your own domain.

So what can you expect to be working on after starting with us?

In your first 30 days:

• Onboarding and Relationship Building .- Complete the initial onboarding process, including an introduction to Klang's culture, values, and policies. Begin forming connections with members of the QA team and other team members.
• Game Immersion and Tool Proficiency.- Familiarize yourself with the basic functionalities of test management and bug-tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Testmo). Begin using these tools to test SEED, report and regress issues and execute the necessary, accompanying testing processes.

In your first 60 days:

• Onboarding and Relationship Building.- Deepen your understanding of Klang's culture and how it aligns with the studio's mission and vision. Foster stronger working relationships with QA team members through active collaboration on testing tasks.
• Game Immersion and Tool Proficiency.- Progress in mastering the selected tools, exploring advanced features and configurations. Deepen your understanding of SEED's gameplay mechanics and world, utlizing this knowledge to improve on bug writing quality, speed and frequency, and reporting more complex bugs.

In your first 90 days:

• Onboarding and Relationship Building.- Actively participate in team meetings and discussions, contributing to a positive and collaborative work environment. Expand your network within the studio, connecting with developers, Product Owners, and other team members.
• Game Immersion and Tool Proficiency.- Become proficient in using the selected tools to manage and track testing efforts effectively. Have a good knowledge of all of SEED's gameplay mechanics and world, utlizing this knowledge to further improve on bug writing quality, speed and frequency, and reporting more complex bugs.

In your first 180 days:

• Onboarding and Relationship Building.- Have a deep enough understanding of Klang and of the QA team to serve as a source of knowledge and guidance for any new team members who join the studio. Be seen and respected as an excellent member of the QA Team in terms of work ethic and passion, SEED and QA testing knowledge and generally as a valued member of Klang.
• Game Immersion and Tool Proficiency.- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in the selected tools, able, if called upon, to provide training and support to new team members. Be an expert in SEED's gameplay mechanics and world, utlizing this knowledge to further improve on bug writing quality, speed and frequency, and reporting more complex bugs.

How we get to know you…

1. The recruiter screen: You will have a 45-minute interview with one of the Klang Talent Acquisition Team. During this conversation, you will be asked questions about your motivations for joining us here at Klang and to give an overview of your relevant skills/experience.
