Your Mission
Welcome to Activision Mobile. We’re a new in-house studio, dedicated to developing the best AAA mobile games in the world. Our first project is a new AAA mobile title in the Call of Duty franchise, and we’re looking for great talent from mobile, console, and PC backgrounds passionate about their work, who share our belief in what AAA experiences on mobile can and should be. Player Profile
As an embedded QA tester, you will play a very important role in the production of the game since you will be the first line of defense for the title’s quality. You’ll work closely with developers to test features in development and ensure that those features meet design requirements. You will be able to quickly help developers identify problem areas and validate that those problem areas are addressed.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the development team to understand the overall game vision & design documentation.
- Develop and update test plans based on game features and design documents drawn up by the development team,
- Use the development team’s tools to aid in the identification of bugs, as features are implemented in the game.
- Isolate and reproduce bugs to assess severity and probability.
- Identify and document defects in a clear and concise manner, then follow up with the development teams to facilitate their resolution.
- Stay up to date on testing best practices, strategies, and techniques to keep up with the industry + develop your skills..
- Closely coordinate with external QA teams and be the communication link between teams.
- Send regular reports and highlight any potential risks in advance.
- Work closely with the leads to help define process and procedure.
Qualifications:
Skills & Requirements
- Experience testing mobile software on the following platforms:
- Android
- iOS
- 2+ years of game software testing experience preferred
- Experience or knowledge of free-to-play games a plus
- Familiar with defect tracking software such as Jira, Dev Track, etc…
- Familiarity with test case management software such as Testrail, Zephyr, etc…
- Understanding of the test case creation process and implementation.
- Experience writing documentation via Confluence.
- Proactive
- Strong Communication skills
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with agile development is a plus
Bonus Points (Not Required)
- Dabbled in some programming and can interpret code. Not necessarily an engineer but at least know enough to hold your own.
- You are relentless and efficient in your pursuit of bugs.
- You understand the tools of the trade and your process is impeccable.
- The thought of picking something apart to see how it works gets you excited.
