We’re looking for a Quality Assurance Tester to join us at Undead Labs to create and execute test plans and cases to detect and record product defects. As a member of the QA Team, your responsibilities will include testing software for reliability, consistency, absence of product defects, and compliance, working closely with developers as a point of contact for features and strike teams, and keeping documentation, tests, and fellow team members up to date. Your attention to detail and love for quality will be key to your success in this role. This role reports to the QA Manager.

What you’ll do

  • Play various game components, in service of testing the software
  • Execute, create, and analyse test plans and test cases for various test scenarios, ensuring coverage of major features and components
  • Apply solid understanding of test strategies and methodologies
  • Run automated tests that are maintainable and reusable
  • Work with supervisor to review accuracy of tests
  • Work with the testing team to ensure code, components, and features are tested at the appropriate level and follows guidelines and best practices
  • Report on bugs and issues; regression test fixes
  • Communicate documented issues and concerns to team leader to get guidance on next steps
  • Produce work that is consistently high quality
  • Establish good working relationships with team members and peers.
  • May be involved training and onboarding third party QA resources
  • May be a point of contact for one of many feature or strike teams
  • Work collaboratively across the whole studio to create shippable products.

Core Traits & Experience

  • 1-3 years of related professional experience
  • Knowledge of gaming software, platforms and applications
  • Familiarity with the gaming industry and terminology
  • Efficient with documentation and evaluation processes
  • Organized with a high attention to detail and patterns
  • Testing and diagnostic tools capability
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Communicates effectively to represent QA across all disciplines in the studio
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to collaboratively solve problems
  • Self starter with the ability to operate independently in a fast paced environment

Bonus Traits & Experience

  • Experience in game development with one or more shipped titles
  • Experience with the Atlassian suite of tools for Agile-style development
  • Experience with supporting a live product

  • Close vision to monitors and screens, consistently working on computer equipment such as keyboards and monitors, long periods of sitting.
