Main duties and responsibilities:
- The management and allocation of resources (both allocated and ‘floating’) to testing projects, as well as the efficient maintenance of respective booking/tracking systems and tools. This also includes absence and holiday requests tracking, punctuality issues and utilisation of supporting systems to ensure any challenges are raised to the appropriate level in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with Service and Production Managers, as well as Lead Testers, on incoming projects and ensure all scheduled and short-notice work is supported appropriately with the adequate number of testing resources and sufficient workspaces/desks, required on a day-to-day operations basis. Also provide reactive support (e.g. additional staffing requirements identified via daily stand-up’s) and sufficient revisions to resource support when required.
- Communicate and collaborate with all business stakeholders, understanding the value of each project from an overall business perspective and ensure appropriate priorities are applied to the projects accordingly.
- Support testing teams’ managers throughout the progress of projects with a rebalancing where needed of testing resources, thus ensuring projects are delivered according to plan.
- Consolidate each projects’ resource requirements and provide appropriate reports on an interval basis (daily/weekly depending on the requirements needed) to the necessary Senior staff; e.g. Seating plan.
- Provide supplementary support on inducting staff into the Service lines, ensuring a smooth introduction and integration into the assigned Project team.
- Also ensure accurate information is provided to the Finance team to manage delivery of respective employee time worked and related information (e.g. timesheets) is delivered before the designated payroll cutoff dates.
- Identify shortages of internal staff and ensure recruitment timeline is defined and met with respective stakeholders (e.g. HR recruitment support, etc) and any other such duties as requested by line Manager.
- Where required, manage supporting staff (e.g. shift-specific Resource assistance and/or offsite support) and ensure they provide accurate information and application of resource-related support accordingly.
- Implement processes and procedures to ensure efficiency of communication and effort between departments and take responsibility on applying them appropriately.
- Facilitate access to Project Management and Business Analysis tools for most efficient documentation of existing and future projects.
- Alongside the above, any other such duties as requested by respective Service Line Manager/s or Senior Services staff.
Requirements
Essential requirements:
- Experience in delivering similar resource requirements across a multi-project and/or multi-Service line delivery line facility, preferably within an onsite and offsite capacity
- Resource tool management and previous experience in continuous data delivery and efficient data reporting in a variety of resource-specific functions
- Proven capability to work in a professional and accomplished capacity at all times, keeping in mind the Resource Management element is employee-facing and represents the business.
- Able to multi-task and ensure smooth delivery of resource support on a day-to-day basis.
- Has previously illustrated a capacity to problem-solve on a rapid basis and provide rapid resource solutions which minimise risk to other projects whilst taking into account delivery priorities.
- Able to work alongside project planning personnel and accurately determine appropriate resource requirements.
Desirable:
- Experience/knowledge of the games industry and it’s associated challenges for games production, testing and delivery of support to release and beyond.
- Previous experience of managing a growing resource group, preferably cross-services within a technical (IT-related) capacity.
