QA Manager

Demiurge Studios is seeking a QA Manager to lead our growing testing department and work with our amazing teams to bring the highest quality, world-class games to our players! You will be an integral part of project team leadership and work closely with our QA Director to help manage, improve & scale our quality assurance organization.

Responsibilities:
- Ensure QA/QC processes support our games in meeting all internal and external quality goals
- Collaborate with Production to plan & monitor upcoming resource needs, test cycles and schedules; communicate status and action plans
- Collaborate with Engineering to analyze risks and recommend tooling & practices to support project quality & test coverage goals
- Manage and oversee test activities & execution; visualize & communicate QA trends
- Collaborate with all stakeholders to ensure quality issues are addressed; assist to remove impediments as needed. Participate in root cause analysis & developing mitigation for future risks
- Hire, train, manage & mentor QA team members in their career growth
- Work with clients and third-party vendors on Security, Compliance/Certification, Localization, Performance, Regression, Release & other test phases as appropriate
- Recommend and lead the implementation of appropriate test automation strategies
- Work closely with QA Director, Leads and company leadership on long-term Quality Strategy for scalability and efficiency
- Lead dept. initiatives & continuous improvement efforts for QA methodologies
- May have the opportunity to contribute directly to one or more projects in flight
Qualifications:
- 5+ years QA Management experience and overall career game credits on multiple Console, PC, Web, Mobile and/or VR games
- Experience with recruiting, hiring, mentoring, training and performance management of QA staff via day-to-day management
- Expert knowledge of QA methodologies that cover all testing phases (Functional, Exploratory, UI/UX, Integration, E2E, Regression, Security, Localization, Compatibility, etc.)
- Success working within various SDLC methodologies: Scrum/Agile, Kanban, Waterfall, Hybrid
- Deep experience with defect reporting, triage and root cause analysis as well as test case/test artifact management, tracking & reporting (Dashboarding/Metrics)
- Professional demeanor with a team-focused attitude & positive mentorship style
- Our ideal candidate will have had experience standing up QA processes & owning all aspects of QA including managing vendor relations
Preference To Candidates With:
- Experience managing diverse, inclusive teams with a high degree of emotional intelligence & psychological safety skills
- Certifications (ISTQB, QAI or other relevant QA & technical certifications). Ability to mentor others on this path
- Proven success working with outsourced partners and managing external vendor teams
- Success in implementation of test automation to support playtest cycles; direct automation skills preferred
- Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, Microsoft and Google Office, TestRail and/or other relevant test case management tools
- Creative & motivated to make great games even better!
