QA Manager - Core Tech

OVERVIEW:
In this role, you will manage a successful Quality Assurance Team on assigned projects. This is a great opportunity to manage the test process through submissions, internal resource planning, ensuring the highest quality of product to meet deadlines, while organizing all related staff and department situations. We require a strong leader to manage the Core Tech operations. This role works in the Novato, CA office and reports to the SVP or Sr. Director of QA and Submissions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise the QA Team on all processes and test automation for our Core Technologies team
- Feedback and liaison with Functional and Compliance QA, Producers, Developers, and other external departments
- Liaison with platform holders to ensure guidelines and standards compliance
- Joint sign-off of development milestones and managing the submission process
- Manage Test processes, harnesses, and technology
- Manage team(s) on a day-to-day basis
- Leads an efficient and data driven team by utilizing metrics to measure performance gaps and increase productivity by improving testing and automation processes
- Perform quarterly and annual reviews of staff
- Build successful working relationships with all stake holders
- Actively participate in the recruiting and interview process
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, internally & externally
- Proficiency building extensive automated tests for serverless or micro-services on Linux typically via REST
- Management skills to include: successfully handling ambiguity, flexibility & understanding of the development process, while maintaining good relations with producers and developers.
- Our primary languages are Java and JavaScript but knowledge of Go, C++ and C# helpful
- Broad range of prior art including: Unit, Functional, Integration, User Acceptance, System & Security automation
- Ability to explain technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences
- An attitude of achievement when our partners are successful
- Knowledge of format holder standards (Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo)
- Knowledge of MS Office Suite, G Suite, Source Control and Visual Studio
- Technically proficient with PCs, gaming consoles, and related hardware
- Ability to liaise with other departments
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- B.S. in Computer Science, or related technical degree, or equivalent practical experience
- Minimum of 5+ years of management experience to include people management
- Prior work with cloud providers (GCP, AWS, Azure)
- Experience with multiple SQL and noSQL databases at scale
- Jenkins or similar continuous deployment tools
- Knowledge of bug database systems, QA process, test plan creation, and bug writing process
- Capable with Perforce and Git
- OSX and Windows development knowledge
- Well-developed interpersonal, communication, presentation and management skills
- Must be able to lead and mentor a team
- Attention to detail and positive personality to foster excellent working relationships
- Must be able to communicate effectively and successfully in English, in both written and oral forms
- Hardworking, reliable and punctual with flexibility to work various hours depending on deadlines
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 lbs. and sit for prolonged periods of time

- Previous project management experience in a gaming environment
- Passionate about games and the gaming industry
- Strong ownership, urgency, and initiative
