QA Lead - Build

The QA team at Build a Rocket Boy Games is expanding! We’re looking for an exceptional QA Lead - Build to come join us here in our newly refurbished Edinburgh office. As a member of the QA Team, you’ll be working closely with the wider development team ensuring the project quality standards are upheld. Our ideal candidate will be a creative leader with experience in building quality-focused teams and delivering world-class products.
The successful candidate will have a positive outlook, and a professional manner. They will possess the ability to focus on tasks whilst being agile. A genuine passion for the video games industry is a must, as well as experience of playing a diverse range of game genres in a variety of formats.
Responsibilities
- Define and maintain pre-build testing processes and ensure the of builds for the development team.
- Continually evaluate the process and champion QA principles and methodologies.
- Be a point of contact for all things QA regarding build quality.
- Autonomously make decisions and adapt to arising situations.
- Triage and manage defects, proactively working with the development team towards resolving critical issues.
- Manage and develop a small team of QA Analysts.
- Create, monitor, and control metrics impacting product and team quality.
- Prepare detailed test plans and test cases based on documented requirements and reviews with stakeholders.
- Support deployment process.
- Work closely with QA Leadership, suggesting improvements to the process and highlighting potential risks.
- Support other QA sub-teams when required.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in Game Dev/Embedded testing capacity.
- Comfortable with UE5 and or Unity.
- Experience using Perforce and Visual Studio.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins/Teamcity
- Deep understanding of defect reporting, version control, and configuration management best practices.
- Technical aptitude and ability to learn fast.
- Experience using Agile development methodologies.
- Avid gamer with a passion for Game Development.
Desirable:
- Experience in game automation.
- Experience in Release management.
