QA Engineer - VALORANT

VALORANT is Riot’s take on a character-based tactical shooter (for more info on VALORANT click here!). As a QA Engineer on VALORANT, you will join a multi-discipline team of engineers, designers, producers and project managers to create value for Players around the world and improve their experience. You will be guided by Riot's Test Policy to drive quality ownership across the software development life cycle, as well as helping to establish and execute team wide quality goals. It will be important for you to aggressively protect the player experience and deliver results in a high pressure, agile development environment.

You will also be accountable as the quality owner of an area or product in addition to identifying and implementing quality improvements to the team’s development process. Additionally, you may partner with and mentor remote QA teams to ensure features are delivered at a high quality bar. Lastly, you will identify and mitigate risks to feature delivery and product quality and craft data to report on the quality of the product and update partners. You will report to the Quality Manager for the project.

Responsibilities:

• As QA Engineer for VALORANT, you will be key in supporting your development teams, Engineers and Artists, executing and owning the QA process to deliver quality content to Players.
• Designing and executing test plans to maintain a high quality bar for your product.
• Improving and refining efficient solutions to problems, while continuously improving delivery.
• Monitoring and measuring the impact, efficiency and effectiveness of quality activities for your team and using that data to guide action.
• Solving complex problems by innovating on best practices, and implementing new ways of approaching and mitigating quality risks.
• Planning work according to team deliverables, and taking direction from both your team leads and quality manager.
• Supervising external testers in their day to day tasks.
• Driving communication, representing QA work on progress, tasks or blockers and the overall Quality of the assigned product.

Required Qualifications:

• 2+ years Software Quality Assurance Experience, with success leading Quality efforts in game development
• Experience designing and executing test plans.
• Experience managing components of a defect database.
• Experience working embedded with developers and content creators.

Desired Qualifications:

• QA experience working on backend systems and Unreal Engine 4 in game development
• Professional experience working on first-person shooters, or extensive engagement playing them
• Professional experience working on esports titles, or extensive engagement as a fan
• Experience tasking remote testers and providing feedback on effectiveness.
• Experience creating custom reports on test coverage and defect data.
• ISTQB qualifications; i.e.: Foundation/Agile Tester/Expert Level/Adv. Test Mgr.
• SCRUM/Agile qualifications
• Development/Test experience across several platforms; Mobile, Console, PC
