QA Engineer - Mandarin speaking Build Delivery Specialist

As a QA Engineer you will have the opportunity to work closely with all our development teams in order to assist in the timely and complete delivery of builds from all our titles to external teams located in China. We are looking for someone who speaks fluent Mandarin and English with strong communication and organisational skills to assist in the testing of builds that are sent between external teams.

The role requires someone who can apply a methodical approach to tasks and problem solving to facilitate the bringing together of various aspects of development in order to create a stable working build of our titles.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in QA in a development environment, who is familiar with the development process and has a technical background in a relevant field of software development as well as knowledge of the Chinese region and market.

Key Responsibilities

The primary functions of the role are to find, grade and report defects completely and concisely and aid in the reproduction and further investigation of issues as required, communicating key defects, feedback, testing requirements and potential risks to stakeholders in both QA and the rest of the development team.

You will be responsible smoke testing builds sent to external partners including liaising between the various specialisations within QA, such as audio, graphics and localisation to ensure all expected content is tested and functional to the required level.

You will be working with various disciplines at CA both in QA and elsewhere in development to assist in ensuring builds contain all the expected updates and are created within expected timeframes, using strong communication and reporting tools.

The objective is to work towards providing the highest overall quality build possible by the given deadlines.

Knowledge, Skill and Experience

Essential

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to relay important information in the most suited format.
• Fluent in Mandarin and familiar with Chinese market
• Familiar with digital distribution platforms in video games
• Proficient time management and organisational skills, able to handle multiple tasks and meet set deadlines and priorities.
• Ability to follow set process and a methodical approach when investigating issues.
• Ability to self-manage and generate tasks to drive the process and testing of an area
• Wide ranging experience playing a variety of PC video games including the Real-Time Strategy genre of games.
• A passion for video games and a desire to be part of the creative process involved in developing video games.
• A University degree or equivalent in a relevant field that can be applied to Games Testing.

Desirable

• Previous QA Experience working in Games or other related fields is highly desirable.
• Previous experience working on a AAA title in a development studio.
• Experience playing the latest titles in the Total War franchise.
• Knowledge of the development process and the various disciplines involved.
• Experience using Jira, DevSuite and Perforce.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with animation or database related game tools
