QA Director

Job Description
As the QA Director you’ll oversee the testing processes of our projects and the QA department. The ideal candidate is passionate about providing high-level direction, supporting a team of testers, and getting their hands dirty with day-to-day work. Directors at our studio have a big influence on the decisions not just within their department but across the whole game and we’re looking for someone who wants to take a major part in the future of our games and studio.
The ideal candidate must have a keen interest in participating in the game development process, and an understanding and appreciation for problem solving and creating a polished product. This person would play a significant role in getting a high quality game to the player by working collaboratively with the whole team to ensure the games quality. They must be a team player, willing to help others identify problems and seek creative solutions.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of testers, their performance and career development
- Establishing, assessing and continually improving QA processes
- Set and own the QA vision of the company and drive it’s development
- Oversee the test planning and execution using the best approach and technique for each challenge
- Collaborate with all departments on the team to ensure their work can be tested efficiently
- Own and drive the testing process and any tools involved (Jira, Confluence etc)
- Take responsibility for recruitment, on-boarding, development and professional training of the quality assurance team
Qualifications
Requirements
- At least 7 years professional video game QA experience
- A strong and efficient communicator with excellent management skills
- Demonstrate good leadership, enthusiasm and sense of commitment
- Experience testing AAA titles or multiple AA titles on multiple platforms
- Experience with Unreal Engine 4 or other equivalent engines
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- High degree of self-motivation and initiative-taking
- Willingness to work in Toronto is preferred, but remote opportunities are available
Bonuses
