QA Analyst - Metaverse

At Forward Technology Group, we create leading edge interactive experiences and video games with our brands ForwardXP and Forward Game Studios.

ForwardXP is a leader in the development of Metaverse experiences (VR/AR/XR) and Virtual Reality focused video games. We work closely with our largest client, Meta, to reimagine enterprise training and other experiences in the emerging Metaverse. Our hit VR game, Please, Don’t Touch Anything continues to be a top seller on the Oculus Quest.

Forward Game Studios focuses on AAA multiplatform video game development with an emphasis on multiplayer games. Our senior team previously served in leadership positions to ship titles in some of the top selling game franchises of all time including Call of Duty, DOOM, QUAKE, RAGE, Wolfenstein, Counter-Strike, Half-Life, Left 4 Dead, The Sims, James Bond, and Medal of Honor. We are currently working on an unannounced multiplayer focused title.

Who we are looking for
We are looking for a QA Analyst to help us build and ship interactive and game experiences here at Forward.

In this role, you will work closely with our talented Metaverse teams including Production, Engineering, Art, and Design.

What you will be doing

• Detect, research and report issues in VR projects through various testing disciplines
• Write and execute test plans on pre-release versions of software
• Create regular reports summarizing the QA status of projects
• Assess product functionality against design and quality standards
• Log issues for development team review in clear, concise tickets
• Act as the QA point-of-contact for your assigned projects
• Executing test plans on pre-release versions of software
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure quality and accuracy in the overall game play experience and its functionality
• Utilize experience exploring open worlds to provide feedback that will help improve the title for fans and participants of such game play experiences

What we would like to see

• Shipped at least 1 title in a QA role
• Experience testing in VR and online/multiplayer games
• Familiar testing on modern VR headsets (i.e Oculus Quest, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive etc.)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in both an individual and team environment
  

Bonus Points

• PC testing experience
• Familiarity with game development tools such as Unreal Engine or Unity
• Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira and Confluence
• Have your own elaborate renaissance faire garb, complete with matching, hand-crafted accessories. It'd be cool if you have a sword too. (Our QA team is really... really into Ren Faire)

Position's location

This role is an in-office position with hybrid work-from-home flexibility. We offer relocation assistance for those coming from outside the Dallas area.
