Day in the life of a Purchase Ledger Supervisor.
Reporting into the Assistant Financial Controller, you will be tasked with managing the Accounts Payable team, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, effectiveness and efficiency of Sumo’s expenditure processes, including purchase ledger, credit cards and business travel and expenses. You will provide leadership of the AP team, drive process improvement and take a lead on managing our purchasing systems.
Please note:
This is a hybrid role based in our Sheffield office, with a minimum of 2 days required in the office.
In your new role you will:
- Manage the AP team deadlines and performance
- Be the key point of contact for the Sumo purchasing system, including continued system improvement and development working with third party developer and support team
- Continuously review and improve the purchasing process, identifying and implementing changes to drive efficiency and control
- Prepare Sumo’s 6-monthly Payment Practices reporting for review
- Ensure invoices and credit notes are processed in a timely manner for the whole group
- Ensure all AP payments are made according to correct terms
- Liaise with internal departments / studios regarding any queries / resolution of ongoing issues
- Liaise with suppliers regarding any queries
- Work with the AP team to facilitate new supplier set ups and due diligence checks
- Complete month end checks to meet invoice processing deadlines
- Process staff expenses / interview expenses / relocation expenses
- Prepare month end AP accruals
To be successful you will have:
- Previous experience as a purchase ledger
- Experience of managing a team
- Experience working in a fast-paced working environment with changing priorities
- The ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload
- Strong MS Office skills
- Experience using accountancy/software systems
- The ability to meet deadlines
- Experience with Sage and Documentation software is preferred but not essential
