Our growing Sales team at Striking Distance Studios is looking for a talented Director of Sales Planning & Analytics!
Our perfect candidate will be on the ground floor to grow an analytics team through interpreting data and providing actionable insights on how to optimize performance. This role will collaborate cross-functionally with teams to understand the impact of sales efforts at the top, middle and bottom of the funnel. You are a curious, technology-minded person with a passion for using data to inform decisions. You use data as the building blocks of the strategy to acquire and retain customers, you'll be responsible for developing scalable data models, data visualizations and defining data requirements/processes aligned to business objectives. Your ability to take large amounts of data, and build an informed perspective on how to improve the impact of sales investments is critical to success in this role.
As a manager, the right candidate will have experience working with small teams in a fast-paced environment. In addition, this candidate will be a clear communicator in helping us become a data-driven company; to define quarterly goals, project requirements, and manage projects end-to-end cross functionally.
As a person, you're a professional and yet still a fan of playing video games. You can identify what we need to do in order to have a great game launch in detail and elaborate on the different strategies to achieve this. You are professional about how you offer and receive feedback and critique. Lastly, you are seeking a career opportunity working with a jovial, tight knit team in a high collaboration work environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Build a sales and marketing analytics organization with SDS publishing.
- Build strong relationships with key cross-org stakeholders to help build a cohesive approach to Striking Distance Studios growth targets.
- You will work in close partnership with Marketing, Sales, and Finance to identify and support key business initiatives.
- Identify and initiate the need for building various dashboards and reports to analyze campaigns.
- Perform ad-hoc analysis and identify factors to improve acquisition & retention performance to improve customer and revenue growth.
- Create, manage, and maintain sales KPI reports.
- Assist in data management, governance, attribution rules, and data quality with other functional data owners to ensure data integrity across different departments.
Job Qualifications
- Experience working in gaming.
- 10+ years of experience with data modeling, visualizing, and interpreting data.
- Develop understanding of content and gaming goals to proactively suggest data-driven methodologies and new KPIs to measure complex business needs.
- Ability to build a team and collaborate with team members, generating ideas/recommendations that combine analytical, sales, and business thinking.
- Intuitive and creative mindset to brainstorm and execute new experiments and campaigns based on a data-driven approach.
- Experience query relational databases (SQL) , analyzing data, and arriving at insights using qualitative techniques.
- Proficient with various analytics, visualization, and BI platforms (Looker, Mode, Segment, Google Analytics) and the ability to quickly understand new and proprietary tools.
- Ability to communicate highly complex and technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Experience with experiment design, and A/B test analysis across multiple KPIs.
