Project Manager (Rainbow Six Siege) – User Research Lab

Job Description
As a Project Manager within the Montreal User Research Lab, you’ll contribute to the ever-growing research team and help it maintain the highest standards and its position as one of the largest research teams in gaming by implementing best practices and maintaining and improving its processes.
With passion and drive, you’ll act as the point of contact for stakeholders, managing their expectations, assessing their needs and making sure you understand their priorities. You’ll also manage a team, ensuring its synchronization, assigning tasks, monitoring the workload balance, and ultimately make sure the project is moving forward. Using keen strategic insight and applying them to process you help put in place and manage, your contribution will become a key metric to the team’s success.
With an understanding of the workflow processes and the inter- and intra-departmental relations, working hand in hand with our experts, game creators and studio executives, you will make sure that our great production teams have all the info they need to make informed decisions and provide the best player experience possible.
About the Lab
Working closely with local game development teams, the Montreal User Research Lab (MURL) teams work to develop common practices to align teams and projects across Ubisoft like Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry and Rainbow Six (and many more to come!) with pertinent player experience data. We focus on creating innovative methodologies that are used to help and nurture the community’s exchanges and enable them to have better player experience. The Lab’s goal is to help shape the features and breakthroughs of current and future games while being at the centre of consumer empathy and understanding.
What you’ll do
- Define and apply best project management methods and practices, and take part in their development, implementation, and innovation.
- Along with the Production Manager (Player Experience Insight Manager), plan and outline the team’s roadmap and determine the resources required (availability, skills, etc.) + onboard new team members and ensure knowledge transfer.
- Attend all important stakeholder meetings and then report any pertinent details to the Production Manager.
- Collaborate with in-house partner services to orchestrate and facilitate the implementation of optimal solutions and improvement projects and workshops.
- Follow up on the progress of the work (team, project, stakeholder support, etc.) and provide guidance on project initiatives.
- Communicate status updates to project stakeholders on a regular basis (mandates, general satisfaction, timelines, etc.), ensuring adequate communication between project collaborators (frequency, adaptation based on the context and product, different personality types, etc.).
- Scope project mandates and timelines and escalate risks when needed.
- Maintain, improve, and innovate current processes and tools (Jira, Teams, Miro, Office Suite, Automations, etc.).
- Plan potential cell-related events.
- Help triage, classify delegate external requests as they come in.
Qualifications
What you bring
- Experience in project management (in the video game industry, a plus)
- Excellent communication skills + the ability to adapt your interactions to different types of personalities and work styles
- Ability to learn new tasks quickly
- Great organizational and priority management skills
- Ability to solve problems in a proactive, efficient, and definitive way
- Familiarity with project management tools and concepts (Agile processes, Jira, etc.)
- Experience in user research (a plus)
- Affinity with R6 or similar games/projects (a plus)
