Program Manager, Hardware Distribution (Contract)

Program Manager, Hardware Distribution (Contract)

We are looking for a Program Manager who is a highly efficient and motivated to work across several cross-functional teams. You will be responsible for managing the life-cycle of prototype devices, including shipping & receiving, updating inventory, tracking, decommission, and user support. You will also be implementing process and workflow improvements in order to streamline the prototype device management. Our environment fosters growth, autonomy, and innovation. Responsibilities:

This position reports to Staff Technical Program Manager in Client Quality Engineering at SIE's San Francisco office. Program Manager (Hardware Distribution) will work with cross-functional teams and support software development and QA activities by providing prototype devices. Your counterparts include the hardware team in Tokyo, local Facilities and Security teams, and QA managers and QA leads in multiple Scrum teams. Program Manager makes arrangements for receiving, shipping, and storing prototype devices, and keep the inventory record up-to-date. You are encouraged to improve inventory, tracking, and other related processes. Program Manager coordinates with IT Department and distributes prototype devices to users in local and remote locations. Program Manager is responsible for ensuring the security requirements for device use are met, as well as working with engineering teams and helping users to remedy hardware issues.

Qualifications:

• Background in Software QA in Agile software development
• Basic understanding of Information Systems and Computer Network
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage multiple and diverse partners across businesses and leadership levels
• Requires basic understanding of Agile software development, JIRA, and Confluence.
• Requires proficiency in Google Apps and Microsoft Excel.
• Must excel in conflict resolution, and negotiation across Western and Japanese cultures.
• Ability to lift 30 lb
• Proactive – ability to take initiative in identifying and solving problems
• Ability to navigate ambiguity, work independently under pressure, prioritize, and stay focused in a fast-paced environment

Desired qualifications:

• Experience in cloud-base QA Tools
• Experience working in cross-cultural environment, particularly with Japanese business
• Experience in the video game industry is not required, but interest in gaming, digital entertainment, consumer electronics, technology is a plus
• Proficiency in Japanese is desired but not required
