Blizzard Entertainment is seeking a facilities project manager, to plan, execute, and finalize facilities projects. This includes renovation and new construction according to strict deadlines and within budget. Additionally, this individual will acquire resources, and coordinate the efforts of team members and third-party contractors, to deliver projects according to plan.
The project manager will also define the project’s objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.
Responsibilities
- Direct and manage project development from beginning to end.
- Develop full-scale project budget plans and associated research documents for new projects or expansions.
- Develop project planning documents and route to Senior Management for approval.
- Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
- Prepare requests for proposals and conduct meetings to facilitate architectural and construction management services.
- Review contract plans and specifications for compliance with appropriate building codes and project requirements.
- Review and approve payment requests from professional consultants and contractors.
- Monitor and facilitate the resolution of construction contract disputes and claims.
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
- Coordinate with other departments to set up the facilities infrastructure.
- Coordinate office moves.
- Measure, analyze, and develop key metrics for facility utilization and efficiency.
- Track project milestones and deliverables.
- Manage changes in project scope; identify potential crises; devise contingency plans.
- Define project success criteria and disseminate tasks to involved parties throughout the project life cycle.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or minimum of 5 years experience in facility project management
• Knowledge of facilities planning and construction management processes and procedures
• Knowledge of estimating, budgeting, and scheduling practices
• Knowledge of construction materials and methods
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage stressful situations and adapt to changing environments
• Experience with managing direct reports
• Willingness to travel if required
Skills and Competency:
- Excellent interpersonal skills including written and oral communications; relationship building.
- Excellent presentation skills to present and recommendations to stakeholders/business units.
- Excellent negotiating skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in the use of computer business applications i.e. Excel. Microsoft Project, and AutoCAD being a plus.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong financial orientation for budget preparation, project financial reporting, and internal financial processes (e.g. invoices, purchase orders).
- Familiarity with legal aspects of contracts to include contract preparation and negotiations.
- Risk assessment capabilities and problem identification and resolution skills
- Experience in handling multiple task and projects concurrently
