The Role @ Sumo:
Our Project Management Office (PMO) is expanding to deliver excellent services to our studios. As part of this growth, we're recruiting a Project Development Tools Lead to join the team. This role will support the PMO and all Sumo Development Teams by being the expert in Project Management Software. You would examine current system architectures and work with business and technical staff to help make system recommendations that result in more effective teams.
You will need to be able to visit our Sheffield Head Office around 2 days a week , when required.
Within this role you will:
- Serve as a subject-matter expert on project management tools used by development teams.
- Review and reappraise Sumo Digital’s recommended tool across the portfolio of projects whilst also working with teams who may seek an alternative solution or client preference.
- In charge of finding the answers, but of actively leading the technical vision to success.
- Ownership, administration, customisation and development of Sumo Digital’s preferred project management tool (currently Microsoft ADO) and related systems, and in relation to procedures and process alignment.
- Ability to understand, guide and coordinate all other tools used including those owned and managed by partners and customers.
- Provide training sessions and workshops.
- Produce and maintain user guides and how-to videos for all levels of user.
- Conduct ‘Show & Tells’ for all studios.
- Aptitude to learn new business processes and technologies.
- Operate in an advisory capacity and guide on best practice and scalable strategies.
- Act as a conduit between PMO, IT and the development project teams.
- Identify and build relationships with key stakeholders and teams to foster collaboration in working to solutions and ultimately add value.
- Help to proactively communicate our vision, promoting the PMO and collaborate at all levels to aid in the growth and competitive advantage.
- Working with partner & customer systems to feed into the PMO’s default solution.
We need you to have:
- A good knowledge of project management tools.
- An expert in Microsoft ADO is essential.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Must possess the ability to work closely with a range of stakeholders.
- Possess a balanced mix of technical and business skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Capable of prioritising and managing multiple responsibilities and commitments concurrently.
It would be an advantage if you have:
- Jira and other project management tools would be advantageous.
- A wide and varied understanding of a range of other industry standard tools.
