Programming Intern

Obsidian Entertainment is looking for an Programming Intern to join us for our Obsidian University Internship Program and help make our next world-class role-playing game.

This role will work with the programming and design teams to assist in developing our next big RPG. Spend the summer working in Unreal Engine 4 working on features and tools that will be used in our games! Do you love role-playing games? Are you looking to kick-start your career in the gaming industry? Come work side-by-side with our world-class developers, learn what it takes to build fantastic worlds, and contribute to the next great Obsidian Entertainment title.

Responsibilities

• Support programming team in developing game features and tools
• Communicate with developers to confirm design plans and implementations
• Iterate on features and be willing to accept and respond to critical feedback
• Analyze and critique existing game designs

Requirements

• An avid gamer with a passion for wanting to make games
• Comfortable working in a team environment
• Excellent communication skills
• A drive to want to solve problems
• Intermediate with C++

Pluses

• Personal/school game project examples
• Unreal Engine 4 experience
• A passion for Obsidian role-playing games
• Experience working on gameplay systems
• Debugging skills
