Programming Intern - Rendering
Playa Vista, CA or Remote
Santa Monica Studio is the PlayStation Studio that develops the popular "God of War" series. The programming team of SMS is considered best in class as they push the envelope of our development tools to allow for as efficient of an iteration process as possible. This intern will contribute to that and help bring our creative dreams to life.
Responsibilities:
- Implement rendering technology as directed by more senior engineers
- Help maintain existing systems
- Collaborate with customers
- Write clear, maintainable, portable, and highly functional code
- Profile and optimize to remove bottlenecks
- Test and document code produced
Qualifications:
- Seniors and juniors graduating between December 2022 through June 2024
- Currently enrolled in an accredited university, pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Computer Science or related field
- Expertise in C and C++
- Expertise in a shading language, such as HLSL
- Knowledge of a graphics API, such as DirectX, Vulkan, or Metal
- Understanding of basic computer graphics concepts, such as deferred rendering and shadow mapping
- Proficient in linear algebra
- Enthusiasm and initiative
- Excellent spoken and written communication
- Able and motivated to work with other team members
- Commitment to code quality, documentation, and sound testing procedures
Desired qualifications:
- At least one complete self-driven, self-created project showcasing at least one computer graphics technique (any size, any genre, any platform)
