Job Description

Amber is looking for a passionate and experienced Program Director who will lead one of Amber’s top business verticals . This is a key role that involves a high level of interaction with project team members across all disciplines , external clients / partners and internal Amber leadership. The Program Director is directly responsible for all aspects of the business vertical among which are profitability, growth strategy and partner satisfaction . You will oversee co-development and custom engineering projects on a wide range of platforms, from PC, consoles and mobile to next generation streaming platforms such as Google Stadia or Amazon Luna. This position will work closely with the Head of Studio , Head of Business Development, and other cross-functional product teams within Amber to understand and deliver against Amber strategic goals and product initiatives.

Key Activities

  • Oversee s and ensure s the welfare of ongoing projects .
  • Define s and ensure s that best processes and practices are followed by the teams .
  • Work with the teams to ensure partner feedback is understood and implemented .
  • Performs account management activities such as gathering partner feedback, understands their product and business goals, performs upselling and cross-selling of services when possible .
  • Ensures partner satisfaction surveys have a rating of 4+ out of 5 by taking the needed steps.
  • Follows c losely the projects and vertical profitability and acts to maintain a healthy profit margin .
  • Support the business development team with bringing in new opportunities .
  • Participates and supports local leaders with preparing proposals for new opportunities. Evaluates and a pproves the staffing and budgets for the proposals.
  • Shape s the business vertical strategy based on the market trends.
  • Identify new development and growth opportunities for the business vertical.
  • Build a scalable structure that can quickly responds to partner needs.
  • Work s with Corporate Development to f ind, test and maintain a list of vendors that can provide services and additional headcount relevant for the business vertical.
  • Works with FP&A to build and maintain the revenue forecast for the business vertical.
  • Set, track and hit business objectives that are aligned to the Studio and Company objects.
  • Work with Amber Guild leads to identify and resolve all roadblocks and bottlenecks that may prevent the team from delivering the product on time, at quality and on budget .
  • Work with Amber Guild leads to identify skill gaps that are required for the business vertical.
  • Motivate and support the development team to ensure that project goals, objectives, milestones and deliverables are achieved .
  • Attract, develop, inspire and lead high perform ing teams , creating a culture that motivates and retains talent required for delivering the highest quality of services .
  • Work with the recruitment team to find the right people for the key roles.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • A minimum of 10 + years’ experience in game production
  • Shipped a t least a free-to-play mobile game or a console / PC game from a production role.
  • W orked in the past in game development from an e ngineering role .
  • Experience effectively leading development teams (domestic, global, local, external, outsourced )
  • Experience tracking a complex project and providing support to clear blocking issues
  • Technical familiarity with the aspects of F2P mobile content development, service-based client/server tech, and social/virtual economies
  • Strong project and people management skills
  • Able to work independently and track multiple deadlines to success
  • Excellent oral/written communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience running P&Ls and operating budgets for a game or studio
  • Ability to objectively interpret customer feedback and make actionable recommendations
  • Ability to strategize mid / long term in order to hit the business goals
  • Passion for playing games and deep interest in gam e related technologies
  • Experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint , Photoshop, project tracking and communication software like Jira, Slack and Confluence
  • Solid understanding of agile production methodologies including Scrum
  • BA/BS Degree preferred
