As a Production Supervisor, you will play a critical role as part of the production group in supervising a production team so that product is integrated according to the production schedule in a timely manner, meeting all safety, quality, and compliance requirements.
The Production Supervisor is a hands on and process subject matter expert who uses refined leadership skills to build and maintain an effective and high-performing production team.
The Production Supervisor will proactively reduce production operational issues in a reasonable timeframe, ensuring production targets and requirements are met, whilst always ensuring staff wellbeing and safety by adhering to relevant policies and procedures.What you'll do
- Actively engaging with safety initiatives and proactively working on the safety culture across the site.
- Directing and motivating staff to maximise performance and grow capabilities with a focus on communication, teamwork, and collaboration.
- Manage staff performance through means of regular audits and performance reviews with the aim of providing ongoing feedback to ensure consistent performance against site safety, quality and efficiency standards.
- Follow and adhere to all safety, compliance, and quality procedures and reporting requirements to ensure required standards of operation are met.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives through lean methodologies such as 6S to ensure efficiencies and cost savings are achieved.
- Work collaboratively with management and internal stakeholders to resolve production operational matters promptly.
- Investigate any quality or compliance breaches in a timely manner with the aim of proactively putting in place improved procedures to mitigate future risk.
- Provide technical troubleshooting support and instruction to production staff for quality issues encountered, as well as initial feedback for the Quality Department.
- Deliver daily, monthly, and quarterly reporting packs for the production group to track performance.
- Execute Production Group KPIs to drive departmental performance and ensure achievement of both departmental and business wide goals.
- Manage production inventory accuracy through cycle counts and analysis. In addition, highlight potential shortages, ensure staff adherence to rework processes, and flag BOM issues in a proactive manner
- Execute NPI production activities such as product design feedback reports, development of training documentation, review of work instructions, one-page lessons and videos, all to ensure the on-time delivery of a new high-quality safe product.
- Support and coordinate cross training initiatives of permanent and casual labour staff members to enable staff development and the creation of a more flexible workforce.
- Strategically plan resources to ensure appropriate headcount levels are achieved to meet required output and efficiency targets, whilst also managing staff leave balances to required levels.

What we're looking for
- 5+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- 3+ years of experience working in a supervisory leadership role.
- Microsoft Dynamics ERP experience is preferred but not essential.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong positive customer service attitude with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Be a team player who is a problem solver and approaches challenges in an innovative and collaborative manner.
- Exceptional communication and time management skills.
