Job Description
As a Production Manager at Ubi Saguenay, you’ll be responsible for ensuring specific project deliverables by clearly communicating objectives to your multidisciplinary team through effective project management.
What you’ll do
Project management
- Help set out the project scope and deliverables by estimating workload or resource requirements to reach objectives or complete requests for changes. Implement issue-resolution processes whenever necessary.
- Organize and coordinate the various activities and resources required for the production process (production planning, testing, debugging phase, etc.).
- Ensure that teams have the necessary technical support (DM, Hardware, DT, documents, tools) to enable effective output.
- Provide visibility to the team on the status of deliverables (planned vs. actual) and address gaps.
- Approve or get approval for the work carried out by team members at the end of each phase (iterative process).
- Communicate effectively with team members to keep them informed of current projects, progress, and direction (top-down) + inform superiors of relevant information concerning their team’s work (bottom-up).
- Ensure proper bug management of deliverables (priorities, assignment, milestones, version phases).
- Communicate consumer information for team members to keep the target audience in mind.
Content
- Understand the game vision to help define its scope.
- Share ideas that could enhance the quality of the game with team members.
Human resources
- Ensure team engagement by regularly gauging team morale, identifying the root causes of any issues, and implementing appropriate solutions.
- Coach employees in their work to foster their professional development.
- Carry out and/or validate team performance evaluations and goals.
- Identify and manage underperformance and/or interpersonal conflicts.
- Participate in the identification of development activities (training, COOP, etc.) to meet the needs of team members.
- Approve timesheets and manage absences and vacations.
- Carry out all other related tasks.
Qualifications
What you bring:
- A college or university degree in Management or Administration (or other relevant training)
- 5-10 years experience in coordination and/or team management in the entertainment industry
- Stress and change management
- Time and priority management
- Good judgment
- Resourceful in finding solutions
- Ability to adapt to different personality types
- Good listening skills

- Knowledge of project management
- Knowledge of the MS Office suite
- Knowledge of databases (JIRA, perforce, etc.), an asset
