Production Manager - Unplugged
We want you to #JOINTHEREBELLION!
For 30 years we’ve been independently developing and publishing incredible video games at our multiple studios founded by Jason & Chris Kingsley, but Rebellion is more than just games. We have our own film and mo-cap studio, we create board games, publish books, and through 2000AD, publish comics and graphic novels such as the amazing Judge Dredd.
We operate across multiple UK locations and employ a hybrid work pattern for this position from our studio located in Oxford. Work-life balance is important to us, and we're happy to discuss how we can accommodate your working preferences by offering flexibility in both working hours and the frequency of onsite days.
Rebellion is looking for a Production Manager for Rebellion Unplugged, our Tabletop RPG and Boardgame division. This role is the perfect opportunity for a lover of boardgames to take the next step in their production career with an ambitious and exciting company.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience of boardgame production. This is a busy role, covering complex, multi-element games so strong communication and prioritisation skills are essential. This role will work collaboratively with the development team from the early stages of projects to maximise the quality and cost efficiency of projects, while fitting the right materials to the play experience.
You will ensure that clear and consistent quality expectations are met, and projects are completed on schedule and to budget. You will manage the schedule alongside the in-house game developers, manage the quality control process for samples and completed games, request quotes, maintain the necessary safety and product import marks on products, advising on safety testing requirements for international markers and managing their implementation.
The ideal candidate will also have experience liaising with international printers and freight companies, will be able to negotiate good terms and be agile in handling long and short print deadlines. You will also be responsible for booking freight, monitoring product formats, print quantities and schedules and notifying the team when those decisions are likely to expose a project to freight spikes.
Alongside production duties, you will also be responsible for analysing stock holdings on an ongoing basis and advising on reprints, as well as liaising with our Rights Manager on co-edition printings. You will ideally be familiar with formats and materials used in both the boardgame and RPG industries. You will need to be familiar with InDesign and Photoshop, be able to check files and output print-ready PDFs.
