About the Role
As the Production Manager, Original Content (EMEA) you will oversee the daily operations for European broadcasts of online and in-person live Twitch original content events. You will work across the EMEA Partnerships and Global Original Content teams and with third-party production vendors, primarily to establish Twitch Rivals broadcasts out of Europe. Focus areas will extend from pre-production, production design, vendor selection/management, on site execution, and all post event responsibilities including post-mortems and reporting. You will report into the Director, Original Content Production - EMEA.
You Will:
- Manage daily broadcast production for online, studio and live event broadcasts and relationships with local production partners
- Determine best practices for streamer audio/video integration to online competition events
- Establish operational priorities, and improve performance identifying risks early, planning contingencies and reacting to issues in real time to solve problems
- Work with the sales program activation managers to ensure that all sponsorship obligations are integrated flawlessly into the event
- Coordinate graphics assets to broadcast systems with semi-automatic localization
- Maintain budget from pre-production through project completion and ensure all cost tracking is completed post event
- Plan EMEA Rivals event calendar together with Global Rivals Production team EMEA Partnerships Operations
- Work with EMEA Partnerships Operations team on participants / player logistics for tournaments
- In coordination with OC Competition Ops Personnel, oversee tournament operations for local and regional events with production vendors
- Coordinate local language needs for translation of rule sets, creative elements and other assets
- Lead the production planning of large-scale events including production design, budgeting, vendor selection and integration in to other Twitch departments
- Ensure brand values from design briefings are instituted through all creative elements
- Focus on innovation, by developing programs and activations to surprise and delight the community at each event
- Manage contracts, receipts, invoices and all other event materials
- Select and manage external agencies and ancillary vendors
- Identify opportunities for improvement to constantly raise the quality of shows and events
- Oversee post-event reporting and data analysis
You Have:
- 5+ years experience in live broadcasting, streaming, gaming or event production
- Experience with leadership within live studio and remote broadcast productions demonstrating an ability to take a creative concept and build an organized structure around it
- Working knowledge of all control room and studio disciplines including cameras, lighting, graphics, video switching, audio, conceptual routing
- Experience with multi-day live-spectator events with over 1,000 + audience attendees
- A creative spark and passion for building ground breaking esports events which challenge the boundaries of anything that exists in the marketplace today
- Skills in Excel / Google Sheets (can maintain complex spreadsheets) for budgeting, scheduling along with strong ability to work with large data sets
- Exceptional ability to project manage, think backwards, and plan for results
- The skills required to navigate a multiple-partner environment as part of a team. You know how to get support from all levels while continuing to achieve success within your team
- Experience creating and improving processes. You don't just inhabit a role; you make it better, and are willing to help others improve their roles as well
- The forethought to thoughtfully escalate problem areas in advance of failures
- Written and verbal fluency in English
Bonus Points
- Written and verbal fluency in one (or more) other language(s): German and/or French preferred
- Familiarity with Twitch as a user and a broadcaster
- Previous employment at a games industry or broadcast media company
- Experience working with streamers
- Existing relationships with game developers
