Today, there are seven games available for purchase: Exploding Kittens, Bears vs Babies, You’ve Got Crabs, Throw Throw Burrito, Throw Throw Burrito: Extreme, On a Scale of One to T-Rex, and Poetry for Neanderthals, as well as an Exploding Kittens mobile app that is one of the top 30 premium games on both iOS and Android.
Exploding Kittens is seeking to hire a creative, organized and driven Production Manager to handle strategy, scheduling and production for all non-game products from the Exploding
Kittens brand. As the main point of contact for manufacturing plants and our internal teams, you will organize production, negotiate and analyze cost of goods, recommend materials and
coordinate with internal cross-functional teams.
How You'll Contribute
- Create, maintain and manage production schedules for all non-game-related products including puzzles and direct-to-consumer “incentive” items.
- Lead and organize the project plan and coordinate with cross-functional teams to understand and meet budget, goals and timeline.
- Aid and support the game Production Manager when necessary by working directly with the manufacturers on game production and scheduling.
- Manage all production-related communications and create specification documents for quoting.
- Source and identify appropriate manufacturers per project and assess project and resource requirements.
- Identify materials and manufacturing best practices to ensure cost-savings, efficiencies and quality from development through final delivery.
- Ensure manufacturing and cost feasibility are supported by a strong knowledge of vendor capabilities, manufacturing technologies, quality and safety.
- Estimate, negotiate and maintain budgets and timescales; establish quality controls.
- Visit manufacturers (post COVID) located both domestically and internationally to review the manufacturing process and ensure health and safety regulations are met.
What We Need:
- 4+ years in game production management or similar industry.
- Highly organized, independent and self-motivated.
- Experience working in teams and collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven track record of managing production schedules to meet on-time delivery goals and budgets.
- Knowledge on the cost drivers in manufacturing processes (printing, plastics, decoration & product assembly).
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with superior attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Engineering background and knowledge.
- Pre-press knowledge and experience working with files.
- In depth knowledge of paper and toy manufacturing processes.
- Existing contacts and relationships with card game manufacturers not required, but desired.
- Mandarin language skills not required, but desired.
- Los Angeles-based.
