Directly supervise and coordinate the activities of production and operating workers, so that each member of the production line is aware of what they need to do and what they’re responsible for to maximize quality and productivity. Line leaders complete paperwork and any associated administrative tasks related to the production line, from updating records to show what’s been completed to noting any issues.What you'll do
Production
Enforce Health and safety practices within allocated production lines
Keep records of employees' attendance and hours worked.
Inspect materials, process, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
Read and analyze work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.
Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.
Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.
Interpret specifications, work instructions, job orders for workers.
Observe work and monitor gauges, torque charts, and other indicators to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standards.
Evaluate employee performance.
Confer with managers or subordinates to resolve worker problems, complaints, or grievances.
Recommend or implement measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.
Requisition materials, supplies, equipment parts, or repair services.
Recommend or execute personnel actions, such as trainings, evaluations, or promotions.
Quality
Implement and sustain a culture of 6S within allocated lines
Collaborate with line inspectors to resolve quality issues, escalate to QAR point of contact
Ensure station checklists and practices are appropriately followed
Material
Ensure the correct parts are being used for every production order and from the correct carts.
Ensure all picked parts are consumed by the end of shift.
Identify and root cause why any picked parts were not used.
Beginning of shift/end of shift 6S walk of all work stations to ensure all extra parts are returned to the correct carts.
Ensure all carts remain in the correct spot on line
Fill out add/shorts sheets for required parts that were not picked.
Ensure MRB items are on their carts and ETQ activities are completed on a daily basis.
What we're looking for
At least 2-3 years of experience leading a team of frontline production workers in a high paced multimodel manufacturing plant.
Knowledge of hand operated tools, standard operating procedures
Knowledge of quality & inspection process, generally applicable safety protocols.
Availability to work overtime and weekends as required.
