Production Coordinator: Accessibility

Rockstar Toronto is on the lookout for a talented Production Coordinator who possesses a passion for video games, accessibility, and inclusivity. This is a full-time permanent position based out of Rockstar’s unique game development studio in Oakville, ON.
WHAT WE DO
- Work with Directors, Producers, and Leads on a cross-department level to design, schedule, and track accessibility-related work within broader development timelines.
- Assist with accessibility evaluations and audits and report findings to the relevant stakeholders; investigate and assisting in the development of possible solutions.
- Document internal accessibility practices and initiatives.
- Research and explore different accessibility and inclusive designs to aid us moving forward.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Organize, attend, and help document team meetings.
- Assist with the creation of accessibility focused presentations.
- Host meetings, presentations, and workshops.
- Pass production notes to other developers as needed and coordinate internal discussions.
- Manage the team’s bug and task queues using our internal project tracking tools.
- Deadline tasks against other department’s deadlines and requests.
- Review bugs for clarity and duplication.
- Ensure that the team is on track to meet key dates.
- Help maintain and write documentation and reports.
- Investigate causes of blockage, chase down owners and provide status updates on tasks.
- Be on-hand to assist with any accessibility queries.
- Keep up to date with accessibility industry changes, legal requirements, and guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of accessibility best practices and accessibility standards in the industry.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel), JIRA, Confluence and other project tracking and bug database software.
- Experience with production methods or project management.
- Knowledge and passion for Rockstar Games titles.
SKILLS
- Knowledge of accessibility in games, websites, and other media.
- Experience with production methods or project management.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to focus and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment.
- The ability to identify possible knock-on effects to decisions made during the development process.
- Ability to communicate with others regarding sensitive topics showing empathy and care.
- Comfortable hosting meetings and presentations.
- Self-motivated and able to work autonomously, manage and prioritize own workload with minimal direction.
- Excellent organizational, presentation, and communication skills.
PLUSES
Please note that these are desirable skills and are not required to apply for the position.
- Experience working on accessibility content for media or websites (captioning, STT/TTS, audio cues, web accessibility, etc).
- Passionate about accessibility and inclusivity.
- A broad knowledge of games across all current platforms.
- Knowledge of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 Level A and AA, and familiarity with Level AAA.
