Respawn Entertainment is seeking a Production Assistant - Game Design for our Apex Legends team. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about game development, meticulous with details, and who generally loves to “get stuff done.” The Production Assistant will be embedded with and will support our Game Design team, as well as manage data and assets, documentation, bug fixing, and more. *This is a development support position and is not a game designer role such as level design or scripting.* If this sounds like it may be a fit with your skills and interests, please send us your resume!

What’s it like to be a Production Assistant for Game Design at Respawn?

- Day to Day - As a Production Assistant embedded with the Game Design team, you will work closely with designers and design leads, supporting the team through administrative tracking, data entry, and providing general team support. Specific tasks may include managing data tables for localization and events, workflow and process documentation, bug fixing and raising bug awareness in Jira, art asset management in relation to design, and event rewards hookups. Other responsibilities may include assisting with the in-game store by completing tasks such as setting up ongoing item rotations and implementing the appropriate images.

- Teamwork - As a member of the development team, you will work closely with others within your department as well as other disciplines. You will collaborate closely with game designers and leads, producers, and other disciplines such as software engineering and content departments. Making games is a team effort, and you will work together with other talented team members to work towards what’s best for the game.

- Values - Our development team has strong values. They share their inspiration, knowledge, and passion with the others in their department. They aspire to treat everything they work on as a personal masterpiece. They seek to raise the bar of what “great” looks like. They play the game and are encouraged to speak up if they see anything that is not up to our high standards. They put their time and passion into what will have the biggest payoff for our players.

- Ownership - Our teams are small and everyone has a lot of ownership over their work. As a Production Assistant you will have the opportunity to own your tasks from start to completion, and you will need to use your experience and good judgement to determine how to prioritize as when to raise flags.. As part of a small team you will have the opportunity to shine here.

- Growth - At Respawn we believe that all of our team members are on a path of professional development, and making progress in that journey is a key component of happiness and satisfaction in one’s work. Our team members are encouraged to follow their career interests, while also challenging themselves. To facilitate this, our leads work with each team member to identify areas of strength, and areas of desired development, and whenever possible, assign tasks and projects which will inspire the team member to grow in skill, knowledge, and capability.

What do we look for in Production Assistant candidates?

- You Have a Background in Getting Stuff Done- You have a history of handling and coordinating work that required you to be very detail oriented. You have experience with tracking progress and following up on loose ends. Your communication skills are on point, and in general you move the needle significantly by making daily progress in your own work and helping those around you make progress, too. Ideally you are familiar with the process of developing games and any direct experience in this regard - QA testing, developing in a game engine, game design, production, etc will come in handy here.

- Passion - We look for teammates who are highly passionate. You’ll do your best work if you love video games and/or supporting the creative process of making games. No one is phoning it in here – our team members love what they do and it shows in their work.

- Potential Over Experience - We value talent over years of experience. Experience counts, but potential is important too. We look for talented, highly motivated people who have a knack for hands on artistry, but who also balance their drive to make cool stuff with the understanding of what is highest priority for the players’ experience.

- A Spirit for Collaboration - Positivity and a great attitude help to fuel greatness. The ability to accept feedback and critiques will help you tailor your work towards what’s best for the game. Making games is a group effort and you will collaborate closely with other departments. Teamwork is very important to our success.

Ideally, you also will have.. .

2+ years’ experience in related work (game development, production, QA, or administrative, etc).

Experience using software such as Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite

Any experience with creative software is a plus - Photoshop, game engines, etc.

Some game development or production experience is ideal.

Passion for video games.

If this opportunity sounds like a great fit for you, please submit your resume and we will get back to you once we have reviewed.
