Production Accountant II - Esports

In 2009, Riot released its debut title League of Legends and has since gone on to become the most played PC game in the world and a key driver of the dramatic growth of esports. Since then, Riot has released and built successful esports around VALORANT, Wild Rift, Team Fight Tactics and Legends of Runeterra. The NA Esports team is the group responsible for organizing and operating competition in each of Riot’s Games in North America and Oceania. You will work closely with the North American Esports Event Production team (NA Esports Team) on all remote and live events across all of our supported properties, including League of Legends, VALORANT, Wild Rift, Team Fight Tactics and Legends of Runeterra. Based in the Los Angeles offices, the Production Accountant will work across multiple teams to ensure all production financial operations are being facilitated for maximum accuracy and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the NA Esports Team Members during pre-production for each event to help in forecasting and budgeting.
- Partner with the Line Producer and the finance department to ensure accurate maintenance of forecasting, tracking and reporting.
- Work with Riot’s purchasing department to onboard new vendors, while maintaining those within the system to expedite the internal purchasing process through final vendor payment.
- Review and comment on vendor contracts and costs.
- Work with Riot’s production partners for accuracy in forecasting, vendor selection/quotes through actualization and payment.
- Track and code invoicing and production costs to ensure accuracy in actualization of event budgets.
- Prepare and distribute cost reporting as needed (weekly).
- Organize and maintain workflow files for staff, vendors and contractors.
- Process crew and vendor payroll as required.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Possess a current understanding of California labor laws to ensure Riot is in line with industry standard policies and practices, as well as a minor understanding of Global employment rules and regulations that pertain to traveling Riot staff.
Required Qualifications:
- 3-5 years production accounting and/or finance experience, including proficiency in processing payroll.
- Proficient in the Google ecosystem (drive, docs, sheets and keep) as well as budgeting software, (Movie Magic, ShowBiz and/or Media Web).
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with a high degree of discretion.
- Strong organizational, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in a multi tasked, fast paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Desired Qualifications:
- BA degree in accounting, economics or business
