What we do
The Epic Communications team advances the company's narrative and represents Epic products and the company vision to external and internal audiences globally. We create positive relationships and engagement strategies with a wide range of audiences, including media, investors, influencers, and policymakers.
What you’ll do
Epic is looking for an experienced leader to run our product and consumer communications. You’ll oversee global media relations and external communications strategies for Fortnite and our Social Platform products, including Houseparty. You’ll also lead communications for Epic’s strategic partnerships with brands across music, entertainment, sports and fashion.
In this role, you will
- Establish and maintain relationships with journalists and influencers, including technology, consumer, entertainment, and broadcast press on behalf of Epic Games.
- Develop thoughtful stories and narratives to generate awareness of Epic Games and our partners.
- Oversee day-to-day media relations for Fortnite, while building proactive communications strategies that support the product’s long-term mission.
- Work cross-functionally with a wide range of teams including marketing, product, developer, and partnerships to announce new Epic Games consumer products and features.
- Build a global partnership PR program that tells the story of how the world’s leading performers and brands are finding success with the Fortnite platform.
- Manage a small team and external PR agencies to deliver results.
What we’re looking for
- 10+ years of experience in communications or public relations, preferably a mix of in-house and agency.
- Someone keyed into the community of reporters and thought leaders and enjoys developing new relationships.
- Someone who moves fast, is focused on delivering results, and has a track record of working well across a diverse group of internal and external partners.
- Someone who is user-focused, passionate, scrappy, solutions-focused, and innovative. These traits equal success at Epic and influence everything we do.
Remaining knowledge, skills, and abilities needed
- A proactive problem solver, with strong instincts for when to escalate issues.
- Communication skills, written and verbal, are stellar.
