Job description
The team:
Based in Paris and working with studios and teams all over the world, the Platform Partners team is an online solutions provider that brings new concepts, services, and tools to life for all Ubisoft productions. Our diverse and technical expertise enables us to conceptualize, build, support, and operate products and services for Ubisoft’s worldwide Production and Business teams. We provide expertise in Product Management, UI/UX Design, Development, Infrastructure, Integration and Support to help overcome challenges and deliver with passion and commitment to help teams accomplish their goals online.
Your role:
The Product Owner is specifically focusing on the development and evolution of tools and services that enable the management, operation, and publishing of web sites, game services, and fan products. You will be part of an internationally distributed team dedicated to working on the Ubisoft Account. In partnership with the Account core management, design, live operations, and development teams, the product owner’s role is to manage the initiatives/tools/services, conduct business analysis, work with development teams, and communicate on these initiatives and solutions.
Missions:
- Manage a portfolio of solutions within the Account domain and be a subject matter expert for them.
- Collaborate with the Product Manager on the initiative one-pagers, advising on their portfolio.
- Advise on the feasibility, dependencies, risks, and opportunities for the initiative in relation to their portfolio.
- Responsible to write the feature documentation following the one-pager, conducting any required business analysis for the initiative.
- Work with Product manager and core team to align feature documentation to product strategy.
- Advise management team on estimation of work and cost.
- Ensure coherence of initiative at all stages.
- Be the expert point of contact for an initiative for internal and external partners.
- Work with UX to design the flows at the tool/service level, following the high-level UX flow as provided by Design and management teams.
- Drill down and document product/features/system requirements (functional specs, actors/personas definition, user flows, mock-ups, user stories etc.)
- Create solution design (mock-ups, functional flows, external dependencies, etc).
- Define user acceptance criteria in collaboration with QC.
- Work with dev team lead and stakeholders to deliver the most business value possible in the allotted time.
- Prioritise at the dev team level, respecting the overall domain-level priorities.
- Act as a liaison for the QC and answer/clarify all the product/feature related questions during the testing phase.
- Participate of release strategy.
- Represent the voice of the player/stakeholder to the delivery team.
- Accept/refuse user story delivery.
- Prepare and deliver features/product handover for the Live Operations team .
- Communicate on component-level releases, notifications, updates.
- Accountable to accept the Initiative delivery and make sure it’s functional end to end.
- Prepare and deliver product/initiative/solution training.
- Ensure 2nd level support for raised product bugs/incidents.
- Communicate quarter initiatives delivery status to Account leadership.
- Ensure documentation for the portfolio is up-to-date.
- Ensure documentation for the initiative is up-to-date.
- Advise Product Manager of any initiatives required or recommended at the project level.
- Work with Product Manager and core team to prioritise product debt.
- Get validation from security, legal, and data privacy teams to make sure the solutions will comply with the various Ubisoft standards and policies.
- Assess the performance of and value delivered by a solution in use (e.g via KPIs etc), and recommend removal of barriers or constraints that prevent the full realization of the value.
- Work with the Group Manager on aligning with the domain OKRs/KPIs
Qualifications
- Having graduated from engineering school or equivalent, you have professional experiences in the management of web applications and services development on a global scale. You have independently managed projects and successfully delivered and lead project lifecycles using strong and recognized project management methodologies, enabling you to challenge and shape solutions to ensure the correct fit to business needs.
- You understand the Agile principles and have experience working in a Scrum or Kanban framework. It would be beneficial to have had some experience in the role of Product Owner.
- A previous technical background as a software developer would also be advantageous. The role requires you to work across front and back-end tools and services, so you should be comfortable writing feature documentation for development teams working on these. You should understand how to work with development teams to develop APIs.
- You have experience working with design teams on UX/UI.
- A strong interest in video games and an advanced knowledge of web technologies is essential.
- Your previous experience should display an ability to effectively communicate and coordinate, in English, multiple complex projects involving teams of differing cultures, and for which your strong inter-personal skills, critical thinking, and initiative made the difference.
