Product Manager
Type of Position: Permanent, full-time.
The daily life of a Product Manager at Ubisoft Toronto
- Define the communication strategy with the Product Director; propose striking communication themes and their declinations into marketing assets.
- Ensure positioning is accurately articulated in the marketing assets;
- Work in tight and regular collaboration with operational marketing teams to ensure the group’s work is in line with the strategy that was set out.
- Own the deliverable plan. Deliver on time, at the AAA expected quality, in respect of the budget.
- Manage the development of certain key marketing deliverables:
- Brainstorm on the right assets to appeal to our target audience and make the project stand out from competition;
- Brief both creative agencies and in-house marketing artist/video editor on screenshots/high res images, trailers and any other marketing assets;
- Provide operational team with raw material (ex: footage, concept art, etc.)
- Work with development team when needed.
- Champion the community manager on his/her online strategy;
- Give visibility to the development on the latest marketing created marketing assets;
- Recommend a presence that is adapted to international events.
Oversee the internal and external presentations for the game
- Ensure the quality of internal presentations (Ex: frameworks, project updates, yearly milestone meetings);
- Identify and coach the best spokespeople for presentations & demos;
- Become a trusted spokesperson.
Manage a team
- Supervise and coach a marketing artist and a video editor
- Suggest adapted development plans for team members
Actively support the Product Director
- Contribute to the development of the brand’s DNA and blueprint by taking part in activities including:
- Competition monitoring (determine and assess differences)
- Competition and game forum monitoring
- Strategic monitoring of the entertainment industry
- Market analyses;
What it takes to make it
- Bachelor degree in marketing or equivalent education or technical training.
- 3+ years’ of marketing experience in videogames, entertainment or any other relevant industry.
- Hands-on, self-starter, autonomous;
- Creative skills, artistic eye;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Ability to defend one’s point of view, even when unpopular;
- Well organised: ability to work effectively on concurrent tasks; to adapt to change
- Ability to manage and motivate.
- Results focused;
- Client and customer service focused;
- Extensive knowledge of the video game market and industry.
