Product Manager, Internal Products

Join our small-but-growing Product Management team and help us build Discord into the best group communications app out there.

As a product manager working on our Internal Products you are responsible for creating leverage across the entire organization. We believe that the tools we use ourselves should be as good as the tools we build for our users. If you are motivated to help your colleagues by making their working lives simpler, more pleasant, and more productive, then this role is a perfect fit. You will be directly helping every team at Discord succeed, from Product & Engineering to Trust & Safety, as well as our Executive team.

What you'll be doing

• Drive the product vision and roadmap for Discord’s suite of internal products.
• Work closely with stakeholders across Product, Trust & Safety and Data Science to deeply understand and address internal tooling needs.
• Lead development of our suite of Operational Products for Trust & Safety & Content Management
• Partner with Product Managers, Engineers & Data Scientists to build world class Data Products such as Alerting, Experimentation and 10x Dashboarding.
• Own development & deployment of internal Applied ML applications

What you should have

• BA/BS in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Statistics or relevant technical experience.
• 5+ years experience building and shipping great software, including responsibilities driving prioritization, trade-offs, and timelines.
• 2+ years product management or product design experience.
• Demonstrated technical proficiency and effectiveness working closely with engineers.
• Proven track record of shipping products from design to deployment.
• Proven ability to analyze and synthesize data, including writing SQL.
• Ability to succeed in an environment with ambiguity.

Bonus Points

• A love for helping & empowering others.
• MS/PhD in CS, Math, Physics, Statistics, Economics or other quantitative fields.
• Experience working on trust & safety, operational tooling or data products, especially those products with an ML/ranking component.
• Familiarity with Data or ML technologies such as Tensorflow, Airflow, BigQuery.
• Experience with the ML development lifecycle, as well as data analytics products.
• Deep understanding of and empathy for your colleagues.
