Product Manager, Safety

We're looking for a Product Manager to join us and lead this important area. You will responsible for creating a vision, building systems and features, and ideating creative solutions to advance our mission towards Safety at Discord.
What you'll be doing
- Drive the product philosophy, vision, and roadmap to enable and scale detection and remediation of harmful content.
- Lead cross-functional execution with engineers, designers, data scientists, ML, security, legal, policy and trust and safety analysts to build scalable systems and internal tools that keep our users and communities safe from abuse.
- Partner closely with operational teams to build creative solutions for problems — this work spans machine learning solutions to heuristics to building delightful features for our teams.
- Define and own performance against key business metrics and proactively report progress against those goals to the relevant stakeholders.
- Propose projects that anticipate upcoming product needs to stop abuse that will work at Discord scale, and help drive the vision for preventing abuse on the platform.
You’ll Thrive In This Role If…
- Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments, excited about finding solutions to complex problems, and then executing on them
- Passionate about Discord and about keeping users safe from abuse
- 2-3+ years product management experience or experience building and shipping great software, including responsibilities driving prioritization, trade-offs, and timelines.
- Proven track record of shipping products from design to deployment.
- Strong analytical ability to quickly organize and leverage data to make informed product decisions with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Sufficient technical domain expertise to drive alignment on technical requirements with Platform, ML and Security stakeholders.
Bonus Points
- Previous work in Spam, Abuse or Trust & Safety or passion in learning.
- Passionate about building solutions for internal customers
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant technical experience.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $165,000 to $178,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include equity, or benefits.
