Job Summary:
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Producer to join the innovative and exciting Square Enix Collective initiative. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring that each game reaches market on time, delivers on the business goals and is produced to the highest possible level of quality.
The Producer (Collective titles) is the key Square Enix point of contact for external development and platform teams and is tasked with understanding the needs and requirements of developer, platforms and Square Enix; to help maintain and build a strong relationship between the developer and Company; and ensure the best possible results at release for all parties. You will work on multiple assigned projects at any one time, all at differing stages of the development cycle.

Requirements
Key Deliverables:
- Work hand-in-hand with other members of the Collective team (internal and external), deliver the game to the specification, on time and on budget while refining plans as the game evolves throughout development to achieve commercial success.
- Ensure games are thoroughly tested by QA teams prior to release, and that releases are fully prepared for submission to platform holders. This may include first-party submissions, store setup, asset creation & management, and copy-writing store text. Continually challenge assumptions, with input on process and design decisions, and proactively drive development and delivery of the product.
- Provide coordination and direction to developer where needed, ensuring the developers’ visions are always in alignment with our own; feeding back to internal teams where necessary, and offering advice on best practice for development.
- Responsible for arranging user / focus tests and making formal change recommendations based on the results as needed.
- Building project budgets and negotiating costs with external suppliers as requested.
- Create, implement, manage, assess and approve regular developer milestones and project goals in conjunction with the other members of the production team to expose exactly where the game is and exactly what is left to do.
- Schedule and maintain any document production plans and processes in coordination with the internal Production Team and other stakeholders.
- Drive definitions, targets and quality benchmarks for the final product;
- Work with the developer and project stakeholders to predict, identify and resolve problems before they occur, all project risks and mitigation strategies should be clearly documented and communicated on project reports.
- Design, plan and present a variety of PowerPoint and code demonstrations for both internal and external uses as needed throughout the development cycle.
- Work with our usability testing teams to identify strategies and plans to measure and trend the quality for each key feature over time while ensuring we understand where the quality of the game will land on release.
- Conduct regular mid-mortems and a final post-mortem while sharing the findings with the wider group.
- Contribute an active understanding of market trends, patterns and customer requirements in international markets for games and hardware.
- Manage EULAs and provide production input into contracts.
- Perform due diligence on prospective developers, and travel where necessary to meet new teams, evaluate pitches and make recommendations back into the business; be at ease representing Collective at industry events, contributing to conferences with networking, meetings and stage presentations as appropriate.
- Perform game evaluations; produce feedback and recommendations and be an internal evangelist for new projects with internal stakeholders, alongside other members of the Collective team.
- Identify key stakeholders at platform holders and other industry businesses and develop strong networking relationships with them.
- Develop and mentor other Production staff as appropriate; provide assistance to other members of the Collective team as needed.

Knowledge & Experience:
Essential:
- A proven track record of producing successful and published video games (3+ years of direct, relevant experience; working with indie developers useful but not required, as long as understanding of indie businesses and people can be demonstrated).
- Understanding of a variety of business models.
- Knowledge of game production methodologies, pipelines and technical requirements.
- Strong understanding of the gaming space, as well as the technologies and general processes required for game production, and trends in player habits.
- Able to draft excellent project briefs, content specifications, and process documents.
- Strong project management and leadership experience.
Desirable:
- Educated to degree level, or equivalent.
- Console experience.
- Programming knowledge.
- Industry relationships with format holders and development studios.
- Multiplayer expertise.

- Very strong experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and particularly Excel.

- Must have a passport and be able to travel; expect around 8 weeks travel per year minimum, including industry events (trade and consumer).
