Job Description
As our new Producer (Associate Producer) at Ubisoft Berlin, you will handle the development of a specific part of the game and is responsible for leading their team to reach a project’s ambitions in terms of quality, timeline and budget. You partake in project involving creativity and technological challenges. You are owning the vision of the features to be created and together with their team defining project planning (goals, resources, deliverables, timeline, risk mitigation…)
You will assume product ownership guide and support a multidisciplinary team (Game Design, User Experience, User Interface, Programming, QA) to develop from start to end the best possible product. You will pair well-designed work processes with clear expectations – goals orientated – for your team members to do their best work and maximize their talents and growth. Ensuring that development is at expected quality level and assessing team capabilities and capacity vs planning and scope and guiding team work on the right priorities and overcome challenges.
You bring leadership to your team by fostering a respectful, supportive environment building team cohesion, motivation and commitment. Providing growth opportunities and recognizing each’s strengths and accomplishments and that the group outcomes are bigger than the individuals.
What you will do:
- Collaborate with partner studios to understand the game vision and requirements, communicate them to your team and provide visibility back on your part of the game making sure needs, risks and dependencies are known and actioned upon.
- Establish the scope of your area of focus: create its long-term roadmap and schedule, its deliverables list, quality targets, and key milestones, and define development strategies and resource planning.
- Assume product ownership, lead reviews with team and partners ensuring vision, quality of features developed.
- Establish production process, support and enable the team on a day-to-day basis based agile and iterative development while providing visibility on workload, progression and velocity.
- Anticipate risks, coordinate with team regarding contingency plans and ensure mitigation is communicated.
- Identify staffing needs pre-emptively, oversee the hiring process in collaboration with the team (in line with project and studio long-term needs).
- Mentor and coach direct reports in form of regular 1-1s, performance assessments and continuous feedback, giving suggestions for trainings and help them thrive.
- Collaborate and support other teams on the project working together as one bigger team.
Qualifications
What you bring:
- Shipped at least one AAA title for PC and/or console in a production role with multidisciplinary teams.
- A teacher/servant leadership mindset and experience in coaching teams to reach high performance.
- A creative problem-solver with good analytical, technical and project management skills.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Lean, DevOps, etc.) and the respective software and tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence).
- Ability to clearly communicate with the team and stakeholders.
- Great sense of responsibilities and priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills in English.
- Willing to relocate to Berlin, Germany.
Bonus points for:
- Experience with product ownership and features development
- Experience with live game production
- Knowledge on 1st parties’ compliance and requirements.
