Privacy Counsel

About the role

We're looking for a talented and passionate Privacy Counsel to join Wildlife's legal team in São Paulo.

As a Privacy Counsel, you’ll help build our privacy compliance and control efforts on a global scale, working to meet current obligations while scaling our processes to support future demands. Reporting to our Data Protection Officer, you'll be the first hire on this growing part of our legal team, and you’ll have a significant impact on how privacy scales up at our company.

This role is inherently cross-functional - you will be a strategic partner to teams across the company, including engineering, product, safety, and operations. You must be able to forge relationships, provide legal support, and effectively develop and improve our processes and technologies.

What you'll do

• Build out and support a comprehensive privacy accountability framework
• Implement systems and procedures to maintain records of data processing activities
• Partner with our engineering and product teams to define improvements to internal tools
• Conduct risk and privacy impact assessments to innovative solutions and tools
• Work with our trust & safety team to develop and enhance privacy and safety measures for our games
• Respond to data requests and inquiries from players and authorities
• Prepare and refine internal policies that reflect privacy laws and company values
• Create and foster initiatives for privacy awareness at Wildlife
• Monitor ongoing internal compliance with privacy laws

What you'll need

• Law degree with admission to practice law in Brazil
• Relevant experience, preferably at a technology company
• Experience designing and implementing compliance programs, as well as developing executive communications and reporting
• Ability to speak and write in English fluently

Even better if you have

• LLM degree
• Familiarity with global privacy laws and frameworks such as NIST and ISO
• Interest in privacy and data issues arising from mobile games, new media, and emerging digital technologies
