We are looking for a Principal Technical Program Manager to help build a structured way for us to tackle critical problems across our product development teams at PlayStation and to drive continuous improvement of our development processes. You will be expected to partner with various multi-functional leaders and teams to help diagnose the root cause of challenges in the product development process and come up with solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and instill a sense of urgency for software experiences and process improvements to meet and exceed customer requirements
- Fix challenges in delivering critical initiatives and bring them back on track
- Be a key contributor in the planning and delivery of software spanning multiple development teams in multiple global locations
- Promote a culture of success, pride, performance, discipline, and creativity.
- Drive program schedules, technical roadmaps, technical trade-offs, and manage overall schedule progress
- Introduce, develop and lead best practices in software engineering, remove obstacles and help the team achieve outstanding results
- Be able to coordinate plans and schedules with different program practices – Agile, Kanban, waterfall and SAFe
- Cultivate relationships across departments and groups in order to fully understand and address organizational needs
- Effectively works across organization boundaries, collaborating to ensure delivery of awesome customer capabilities.
- Identify and improve cross-team gaps in processes and communication to ensure the successful end to end delivery of functionality at the team level, across organizational divides, and geo-locations.
- Cultivate, build and measure agile engineering capabilities and quality engineering practices including critical metrics to ensure optimal ROI.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in software program management/leadership
- 3+ years of experience in software engineering
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and release processes
- Experience in agile software development methodologies and principles
- Meticulous attention to detail and has the ability to make good, timely decisions
- Interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate across multiple teams, multiple time zones, and with multidisciplinary team members
- Scrum Master certification, SAFe certification, Prince2 certification or 3+ years of Agile methodologies practices
- Requires proficiency with Project Management and communication tools, such as Confluence, Google Suite, SharePoint, etc.
- Experience as a software engineer or equivalent
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
- Games/Entertainment industry experience highly desirable
- R&D experience highly desirable
