Job Description
The Molasses Flood is seeking a Principal Sound Designer. The person in this role will create and implement audio and sound fx for our upcoming game. They will work closely with developers across disciplines in order to achieve the highest quality game audio experience possible.
This is a full time position, and reports to the Studio Game Director. This position would be performed at The Molasses Flood office in the greater Boston area. Relocation assistance is available.
OR this position can be performed remotely within the continental US, if the candidate has the appropriate facilities set up to do so.
Responsibilities:
- Create, record, edit, implement, mix and optimize all in-game audio.
- Creatively utilize sound libraries, on location recording, Foley and sound synthesis techniques to build audio assets.
- Implementing audio content into the game using Unreal Engine.
- Work closely with Design, Animation and Engineering teams to ensure audio meets set standards and game vision.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Minimum 7 years as a sound designer in the game industry, with at least 4 years of it as a Senior, Lead or Principal Sound Designer.
- Minimum 2 shipped PC or console titles.
- Unreal 4/5 experience.
- Proficiency in DAW, audio editing tools, and plugins such as Sound Forge, Reaper, Protools, Nuendo.
- Ability to work independently, well organized and efficiently.
- Candidates must have a US work visa or citizenship.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to effectively coordinate with producers, programmers, designers and artists.
- Curiosity, kindness, and a positive and professional can-do attitude.
Nice to Haves:
- Familiarity with Unreal Blueprints
