As a Principal Software Engineer on the Creator Marketplace Team team you'll have the independence, opportunity, and the end-to-end responsibility for challenging, complex, important services within the Roblox ecosystem.
The Creator Marketplace Team empowers Roblox to accelerate the development of 3D experiences by providing assets and tools to meet any need. Creators can publish plugins, models, audio and other assets to Roblox Studio for developers to use in their experiences. Today we have tens of millions of assets in the marketplace, accelerating the development of great games and experiences on Roblox by developers of all skill levels.
You’ll work on projects involving:
- Enabling rich presentation of the breadth of content on Marketplace including through advanced automatic tagging and feature discovery.
- Personalization: making Marketplace a unique experience tailored optimally to every creator’s need.
- Expanding e-commerce to a broader creator base and building the conditions for a sustainable virtual economy.
- Building robust systems to support a safe experience for developers using Marketplace’s user-generated content.
You Are:
- You have 10+ years of experience building critically acclaimed consumer applications that impact millions of users' lives
- An accomplished programmer in one or more of these languages: C#, C++, Typescript, JavaScript, Python, Java
- Knowledge of React is a plus
- Experience with service oriented architectures is a plus
- Experienced in working in an agile/scrum environment with focus on robust design, architecture, TDD, rapid experimentation, A/B testing and metrics.
- Collaborative: You enjoy working with others.
You Will:
- Help shape and build next-generation search and discovery for the Creator Marketplace.
- Ensure that our systems can scale to meet the demands of our Imagination Platform to ensure our players have a seamless experience anywhere in the world.
- Bootstrap and build a trusted economy for Creator content and software.
For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.
Annual Salary Range
$283,780 — $331,640 USD
