Principal Software Engineer - Machine Learning

The Analytics Engineering team is responsible for all things data and ML at Zynga. We are building Machine Learning products serving mobile games. As a Principal Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing cloud based server solutions addressing the needs of Zynga’s games. In this role, you will be focusing on cloud based applications for enabling solutions providing data driven predictions demanded by our various games.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
6+ years of industry experience in server-side software development
2+ years of experience building Machine Learning Systems
Strong programming experience in one or more of: GoLang, Python.
A solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms and software design
Strong object-oriented design and architecture skills
Excellent communication skills – particularly the ability to discuss timelines, design concerns and provide helpful feedback to team members
Have a systematic approach to project planning and dealing with ambiguity
Able to articulate the strengths and weaknesses of solutions and to reason about the compromises required for systems at scale
Experience with Amazon AWS and related technologies
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
5+ years building and shipping distributed high availability cloud services
Deep expertise in GoLang and its package eco-system
Development experience involving machine learning pipelines and/or large-scale data processing
Experience with GIT
Prior experience with TDD, unit testing and code coverage
