The Analytics Engineering team is responsible for all things data at Zynga! We own the full game and player data pipeline - from ingestion to storage to driving insights and analytics. As a Principal Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the software design and development of outstanding quality services and products to support the analytics needs of Zynga’s family of games.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Build and own large scale data ingestion and data storage analytics systems
- Design, code, and develop new features/fix bugs/add enhancements to backend ingestion services and data processing pipelines
- Follow engineering standard methodologies towards ensuring performance, reliability, and measurability
- Collaborate effectively with teammates, contributing to an innovative environment of technical excellence and helping level up peer engineers
- Provide production and integration support for all systems within Zynga’s analytics platform
You will be a perfect fit if you have
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent)
- A passion for the co rrectness of data
- A solid foundation in computer science, with strong proficiencies in data structures, algorithms and software design
- A minimum of 6+ years of professional experience in the development of backend services (Java, PHP, Go) and/or data engin eering systems within the analytics domain
- Experience with containers ( e.g Docker, Kubernetes) inside a cloud environment like Amazon’s EKS/ECS
- Managed and maintained enterprise grade data warehouse and data lake platforms (Vertica, Snowflake, Redshift, At hena)
- Experience with REST/JSON based API design and implementation at scale
- Experience working with data workflow management platforms such as Airflow
- Proven ability to deliver work on time with attention to quality
- Excellent written and spoken communicat ion skills and ability to work effectively with others in a team environment
