Principal QA Engineer - League of Legends

Principal Quality Assurance Engineers at Riot are accountable for managing the QA process for their teams and products. They are the main drivers from the QA discipline to develop test strategies and designs, nurturing of QA culture, and building understanding and solid collaboration between QA and other disciplines. They are guided by Riot's Test Policy to develop quality activities for every stage of the software development life cycle. Additionally, they partner with their teams and craft leaders to arrive at more efficient solutions to everyday problems and improve delivery. They are recognized at Riot as a craft expert on multiple dimensions.

As a Principal Quality Assurance Engineer and Quality Craft Lead of League of Legends , you will report to League's Quality Director. You will set the test direction and standards to promote the vision of quality assurance at Riot so that, "Gamers worldwide know that every experience they have with Riot will be a quality experience." You will solve unique problems that require an ability to evaluate, scope and work on solutions. You will direct individual contributors or even small teams on specific work projects. You will develop multiple QA operations within League of Legends.

Responsibilities

• Build on the test strategy and design for League of Legends.
• Manage multiple quality operations.
• Set the tone and establish the process for testing on teams across the product.
• Identify and facilitate the understanding and management of quality risks.
• Establish standards and best practices and guide their adoption.
• Create and maintain an environment of professional curiosity. Promoting interest in testing and progress among QA members.
• Drive teams to understand player concerns and desires and help find solutions.
• Establish metrics that matter, using data to guide action.
• Drive accountability for overall quality as an essential factor for decision making across product leadership.

Required Qualifications :

• 8+ years Software Quality Assurance Experience, with multiple product successes.
• Experience with a variety of test automation approaches and experience applying that to develop test automation strategies.
• Experience implementing successful test strategies including test automation and tools.
• Experience defining and implementing test approaches as part of an overall test strategy.
• Experience coaching QA team members on test design, planning and execution.
• Experience driving continuous improvement processes within a team.
• Experience tasking remote teams and providing feedback on effectiveness.

Desired Qualifications:

• Development experience across several platforms; mobile, console, and PC.
• Preferred Licenses/certifications:
• ISTQB Foundation Level
• ISTQB Agile Tester or ICAgile Agile Testing (ICP-TST)
• ISTQB Expert Level
• ISTQB Advanced Test Manager
• ICAgile Test Expert (ICE-AT)
