Job Description
The Principal Product Management for Software and Cloud will be responsible for managing a roadmap and detailed product requirements for one or more product areas. You will work closely with both software engineering and design teams to develop a strategy and plan for your area that delivers value over time. You will help guide the requirements engineering process for your area and communicate the direction and changes to all stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have strong customer empathy and a proven track record in developing and delivering great products that delight customers on time.
Responsibilities
- Leads the development and implementation process of Magic Leap’s products and services
- Coordinates departmental or cross-functional teams, focused on delivering new or upgrading existing products
- Monitors the project from initiation through delivery including planning and directing schedules and monitoring budget/spending
- Organizes cross-functional activities, ensuring completion of the project i.e. product on schedule and within budget constraints
Qualifications
- 9+ years in a technical Product Management or software engineering role.
- Thorough understanding of modern product management and product development practices.
- Experience in building business cases and product roadmaps across a wide variety of industries.
- Experience working on highly technical and algorithmically complex products, strongly preferred.
- Conceptualized and shipped mass market, advanced software products that your customers loved. Either as a product manager, or a software engineer. Preferably a mix of both, and preferably across several markets and/or companies. (7+ years of experience).
- 9+ years experience working with your users and know what it takes to get actionable insights from user research.
- Managed and tracked several product roadmaps at once. All the way from an idea to product delivery and support.
- Technical proficiency delivering presentations to your customers, your technical peers, your business partners and your CEO.
- Experience Excellent verbal, written and visual design communications skills, including meeting facilitation and delivering high-stakes presentations
Education
- Background in Software Engineering
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited University in a related field
- Master’s Degree preferred
