Principal Data Architect

The opportunity

Corporate Data builds and serves data products, which empower teams across the company to know our customers and deliver the best experience for all our users who aspire to build & grow content in real-time 3D, from games to movies, architecture, and beyond.

We are seeking an experienced hands-on principal data architect to own the technology strategy of Unity wide enterprise data infrastructure and internal self-service data capabilities. You will be responsible for working with several internal teams to map their needs and coordinating with Data Engineering, Analytics, Business Intelligence and Governance functions to craft and implement scalable and automated data solutions. You will participate in (and lead!) the driving of various aspects of data definitions, models, standard methodologies and governance.

What you’ll be doing

• Own and be a thought leader with a vision on definitions and architecture for data production that will feed into business units and corporate functions to analyze and operationalize the data.
• Own the design and implementation of data ecosystems as well as end-to-end architecture that will allow Unity teams to scale their data needs.
• Influence standardization of definitions, methodologies and solutions that ensure data is securely stored and protected, and that data privacy and compliance requirements are me.
• Build and establish the processes, practices and foundation for business data production and incident management that will support hyper growth of data usage and dependency.

What we’re looking for

• Sophisticated experience building data solutions via architecture, enterprise data modeling, master data management and solution delivery.
• Demonstrable experience synthesizing large amounts of data to extract significant insights and then translating those insights into significant recommendations for leadership.
• Expertise with relevant data tools and technologies: such as Redshift, BigQuery, data visualization tools (i.e. Looker, Tableau), open source tooling for data quality & discovery like BigEye, Amundsen, etc.
• Proven track record in setting up and improving data collection, compute and storage strategies.
• Ability to independently lead projects through all phases including identifying user requirements, technical design & implementation, and final delivery and refinement with partners.

• Experience executing data strategies for large organizations
• Experience in designing solutions for a multi-cloud architecture
