GSN Games is looking for a Principal Data Analyst with a passion for problem-solving and real world application to join our strategic games marketing team in the US.
About the GSN Games Marketing Team:
Our team of data analysts, performance marketers, creative marketers, etc. are responsible for finding, attracting and helping retain customers into our evergreen free-to-play games. We believe in working closely with the talented artists, designers, engineers, product people and leaders in the studios who craft the industry-leading mobile games, including Solitaire Tripeaks, a top grossing solitaire game on iOS and Android over many years.
What You’ll Do:
As a Principal Data Analyst within our marketing team, you will put your analytical talents and capabilities to work in the following ways:
- Monitor the health and effectiveness of our marketing efforts
- Identify and assess new opportunities relevant to our marketing efforts
- Determine the real value of team initiatives and clearly communicate results and outcomes
- Provide data frameworks, tools, and practices that the team leverage to define, track, and achieve their goals in a clear and effective manner
- Take on ad hoc requests from the team, figure out what the team really is or should be asking for, and deliver analysis or tools that bring new insights and unlock new capabilities
- Build and maintain data pipelines, tables, and dashboards that are regularly used by the team
- Become a trusted member of the team to provide reliable data insights and tools
About You:

- Analytical Skills:
- Ability to analyze and present data in a simple and effective manner that is useful for the team with a reasonable amount of detail and complexity
- Ability to identify meaningful signals from noise
- Identify problems, anomalies, trends, issues, and opportunities, by analyzing the data and objectively coming to your own conclusions without external biases
- Ability to create quantitative frameworks that can be used to describe the business dynamics and used by the team to assess opportunities, drive initiatives, and evaluate performance
- Familiarity and ability to use statistical models/tools such as A/B testing, confidence calculations
- Technical Skills:
- Technically savvy in SQL & Tableau
- Ability to create and maintain data tools such as dashboards, queries, etc at team’s request
- Able to pick up new data tools easily without reservation
- Ability to understand, debug, and design data pipeline/engineering processes that can be used to build data tools
Background
- BS or MS in Analytics, Business Intelligence, Finance, Statistics or Computer Science, or other analytical discipline
- 4+ years of experience as a data or financial Analyst applying statistical analysis to B2C consumer behaviors (mobile apps, advertising, market activities)
Bonus Points!
- 2+ years experience within gaming, e-commerce, consumer entertainment, or a similar industry
- Experience with Python, JavaScript, Java or other programming language
- A passion for playing world class mobile, social and casual games a huge plus
- Experience in making world-class social/casual/casino games a huge plus
