Job Title: Pokémon Center Merchandise Development

Job Summary: The Pokémon Center Merchandise Development (2D) team is divided into Seasonal/Home Goods, Apparel, and Accessories. This role will assist their manager in building out the Seasonal and Home Goods lines for Pokémon Center. They will work closely with their manager and other team members to align product direction and strategies for Seasonal and Home assortments. They will drive product development by working with their team and cross-functional teams while ensuring a schedule is adhered to. The ideal candidate will have a product development, branding, or merchandising background and demonstrate experience with small to medium-sized product categories. Additionally, they will be expected to pitch product lines to varying levels of stakeholder audiences. This position will help support product lines from Pokémon Center to bring excitement to fans through brand understanding, quality, uniqueness, and value for price. The candidate will be expected to fully immerse themself in the Pokémon brand.

What you’ll do

• In general, this role is: 40% product development, 30% facilitation and coordination of cross functional teams, and 30% admin duties. Please note these are estimations.
• Assist with the concepting and development of new products including, but not limited to, Home Decor and Seasonal Holiday items.
• Assist and manage any project-related issues that arise by investigating, resolving, or escalating.
• Establish and maintain strong working relationships across the business units and all levels of the organization.
• Ensure accurate product data throughout product lifecycle.
• Communicate daily with internal and/or external partners via video calls, product and project management software, approvals software, and email.
• Assist in the development of process documents, tools, and training materials for internal and external stakeholders.
• Organize and archive product samples.
• Perform other administrative duties consistent with position as assigned by manager.

What you’ll bring

• Two (2) to three (3) years of related professional experience in Product Development, Product Design or Merchandising.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
• Having a general knowledge/understanding of product development, including industry trends, material constraints, general timelines, and pricing.
• Must be comfortable with design and development processes that includes managing feedback from multiple sources, constructive criticism, and creative direction.
• Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn about the project or product being developed.
• Must be solution-oriented and results-driven with strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proven experience in handling multiple simultaneous projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in both a collaborative team environment and independently.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint, Microsoft Word.
• Project Management experience is a plus. Familiarity with project tracking software like Esko and Workfront.
• Buying or Merchandising experience is a plus.
• Experience in working with a pop culture or entertainment brand is a plus.
• Interest in animation, video games, and/or trading card games is a plus.

• Base salary range: $98000.00 - 148000.00. This range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. It is common for TPCi to start employees below the midpoint of the range. Final base salary is directly related to each candidates qualifications and experience uniquely.
